Grand Junction is a great place been there a few times. Great food and people. Enjoy Josh. 😊 Oh let's get the AI algorithms.... Oh unless it figured us out now.😂
Welcome to Arizona, Josh. You should come and visit when we hit over 120 degrees. 🥵 lol. Those are real saguaro cactuses. 🌵 They're protected by Arizona law.
Wow I drive these roads all the time and it's weird seeing it threw a w9. I 17 is adding lanes because of the amount of traffic. This state has grown so much. Glad u enjoyed a trip to my home of 42 yrs and counting.
Thanks for this trip Josh! I’ve really enjoyed coming along with you and seeing these places. You mentioned it in the video but it’s incredible to see how different the country is from the far North to the dessert South and yet it’s still the same country. Keep up the good work sir!
WOW!! Long trip!! On New Mexico and Aironza I look the view on the land and most place are very dry and Cactus. pretty interesting the view. safe drive God Bless.
Im on the oregon coast, when it hits 80 degrees i start to melt. We lived in Oklahoma when I was a kid and it gets wicked hot there too. Good place to be FROM.
Saguaro cactus, I really like em too, I was on a back road in Arizona, goin cross country as you say. The sun was settingn , and I got this amazing shot of a saguaro with the sun as a backdrop almost right behind the cactus, a bit off to the left. For every rm it takes 50 yers, so that one cactus in front of you is probably 100 years.they have weak bases where they are in the sand and they can jusst topple over at anytime.
Because saguaros grow so slowly, it might take 50 to 75 years for them to grow their first arms. Arms are important to them because they store extra water. After 100 years, they usually have several arms. After 200 years they have many arms.
The Sonoran Desert its the wettest desert in the world. Around Phoenix, the average annual rainfall is 7 inches. Around Tucson, the average rainfall is 17 inches.
Saguro Cactus are just one type of Cactus and they grow in the Sonora Desert in Arizona, southeast California and northern Mexico. You were in the Chihuahuan Deset in New Mexico, which is more high desert, no Saguaro cactus in New Mexico. A desert is a desert if it receives 0-10” of annual precipitation. You also saw semi desert which is wetter about 10-15” of precipitation.
There are actually cacti in the hills just outside of Williams Lake in British Columbia, Canada. But they’re tiny, only a few inches tall. Nothing like the ones you saw n Arizona. But it’s still pretty cool to know that Canada has cacti as well.
Several years ago I was in Minneapolis area delivering to Myers or Meijer distribution center during a heat wave. Those poor people were miserable to say the least. It was in the upper 80's or lower 90's. Me being from Florida thought the weather was great. They were all but dying and had to take breaks every 20 to 30 minutes and were apologizing for taking so long. I just imagined I was there in January or February and minus 20 or so how miserable I would be. I truly felt bad for them and didn't rush them at all. Really nice people but they were out of their element most definitely.
Josh, Thank You for the wonderful tour of Arizona and heading north again through Colorado and onto Banff Alberta and the home to Steinbach Manitoba . Old Blue and You have covered a lot of country on this trip.
I really like Arizona and it is beautiful but it's generally too hot. I'll take Minnesota weather any day of the week. Thanks for the entertaining chat on this beautiful road trip. Take care and drive carefully Trucker Josh.
Surprised when you were talking about the heat in Arizona you never mentioned how great it feels with no humidity. DRY HEAT 👍 Speaking of Arizona I'm glad you left for Colorado so we dont have to hear you mispronounce Tonopah again 😂
Those are saguaro (sa-war-o) cactus. It might be hot, but it’s a dry heat! At the end of that statement they usually add a picture of a skeleton! LOL. I was coming south on I-17 one time, the car that passed me had a bumper sticker that said their other car is a dog sled! Not many mushers in AZ. US 89 is one of the most beautiful drives in America, oh, the colors.
The area of the Navajo Nation is a very different type of area in Arizona. I live in Southwest Utah, and we have palm trees here, but no Saguaro cactus here. We have three different regions that meet here. The Colorado Plateau, the Basin and Range, and the Mojave Deseret. There are different vegetation that grow in each region. We have Joshua trees here in our area and they are cool to see as well. Moab, Utah is a beautiful area as well. That part of Utah has grown too. To bad you couldn't have come through St. George, Utah, and see my part of the state.
Saguaro is what they are called. The can grow up to 12-13 meters tall. Carnegiea gigantea is the species. It is native to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, the Mexican state of Sonora, and the Whipple Mountains and Imperial County areas of California. The saguaro blossom is the state wildflower of Arizona. Its scientific name is given in honor of Andrew Carnegie.
The best thing about going on vacation..... you get to binge watch TJV when you get back home and don't have to wait for the next days vlog to come out! When we left Edmonton last week there was a snow blizzard, arrived into LAX to warm sunshine! Thank you for entertaining us all with your daily travels Josh, definitely is a highlight to come home to a new VLOG every evening
Josh they call that scrub brush sage it's all over the desert west Washington to California east all the way to Texas and Nebraska probably the Dakotas too😊
You're thinking Sahara Desert in Africa... sand and sand dunes. Coincidentally, this time of the year the prevailing Saharan winds start picking up that sand and blowing it across the Atlantic into the Southern United States... so you may be seeing that kind of sand, too!
it was 95 here today ( north of Dallas) , time to shed those 25 lbs i gained over winter !!!!! LOL. the Sahara Desert is the mother of all Deserts , so much of a Desert it has Desert twice in it's name ( Sahara is Desert in Arabic ) lol
Don't worry, give it a little time at the rate we're going. We're gonna end up with the same amount of rights that you guys have, and there's a good chance we may end up passing you at some point in the cost of everything due to inflation And we still won't have universal health care. 😂
Well, at least the west is parking if I was a driver that would make me want to run the West Coast more than East Coast but you gotta go where they sent you
You made it to utah. Probably will go north on I15 to Alberta. I'm orginally from Deer River MN. Retired in Morgan Utah / I84. Safe traveling through the Warsch front through SLC.
Josh, your video was making me laugh complaining about the heat in the mid 80s. Moved to Phoenix from St. Louis Missouri 10 years ago. Locals were right my first winter when it first cooled off I had all the windows open enjoying the weather. Not anymore when it gets down to 65 I am freezing until I get used to the cooler weather. You enjoyed a nice drive up 17. I have a second home at 6000 feet elevation toward flagstaffand yes it does snow in the winter. All the construction you experience is widening and are making reversible lanes. 🎉
Palm trees 🌴 are not native to Arizona. Also, the saguaro cactus you are seeing can live to well over 100 years old. They are found in the Sonoran Desert and possibly a desert in Spain (?)
Come on Josh we ALL know that signal/ indicator use is optional because it will wear out the globes Ive just come back from the UK/ Ireland and it’s a thing there to I noticed while driving around don’t u dare wear out those globes
In Arizona, you can't say its hot till it hits 110 degrees. The day we packed up the moving van and left it was 120 degrees. I do not miss it.
Never thought I would see the day when trucker Josh makes it to my home state born and raised here for over 31 years.
Grand Junction is a great place been there a few times. Great food and people. Enjoy Josh. 😊 Oh let's get the AI algorithms.... Oh unless it figured us out now.😂
Saguaro Cactus, pronounced Sa-war-yo, only found in the Sonoran Desert.
If you think it's hot now, just wait for about another month or two.
yup although I understand August is just lovely in AZ for 110F+ non stop days
And top out at 120°F
it’s nice seeing you do these long hauls brings me back to the really early videos with you doing flatbed in the other kenworth, time fly’s don’t it
8 miles a gal, it was all down hill. Be safe out there. God bless.
There is nothing like a cactus decorated for Christmas. I miss my Arizona days. Cactus is such a cool plant.
Welcome to Arizona, Josh. You should come and visit when we hit over 120 degrees. 🥵 lol. Those are real saguaro cactuses. 🌵 They're protected by Arizona law.
Josh you are driving thru some amazing country. Stay safe and enjoy the drive home.
Wow I drive these roads all the time and it's weird seeing it threw a w9. I 17 is adding lanes because of the amount of traffic. This state has grown so much. Glad u enjoyed a trip to my home of 42 yrs and counting.
That’s awesome, real Wylie coyote cactus!
Thanks for this trip Josh! I’ve really enjoyed coming along with you and seeing these places. You mentioned it in the video but it’s incredible to see how different the country is from the far North to the dessert South and yet it’s still the same country. Keep up the good work sir!
Thank you for these spectacular views. I have never been to Arizona.
the southwest is a place I have wanted to visit for a long time. Someday!
WOW!! Long trip!! On New Mexico and Aironza I look the view on the land and most place are very dry and Cactus. pretty interesting the view. safe drive God Bless.
yayyyy love Banff! you need to walk there, it's so pretty. ❤❤❤❤❤
The cactus are protected and you can go to jail for damaging them. They are called saguaro.
And a shot time to get there
Im on the oregon coast, when it hits 80 degrees i start to melt. We lived in Oklahoma when I was a kid and it gets wicked hot there too. Good place to be FROM.

Remember that heat the next time you wish your snow away lol
I really like Arizona and it is beautiful but it's generally too hot. I'll take Minnesota weather any day of the week. Thanks for the entertaining chat on this beautiful road trip. Take care and drive carefully Trucker Josh.
It rained a lot there this winter hence all the shrubs
Cactus is a plant not a tree because they have fibers in the root system and up the whole plant system
palm trees are nice and all. but scorpions love to live in them.
Hey that's so awesome you you're surrounded by palm trees
Palm Trees are not native plants in New Mexico and Arizona. People have planted them there.
Wow nice drive!! Good stuff my friend!
Trucker Dan said what I was going to say. Love watching you both!
OOPS! I thought he was super trucker Dan.
They're their own species of cactus, and I'm pretty sure they only grow in Arizona.
I see that Tonka truck in the back of the sleeper, hahaha. It must be for Theo.
I love how he’s able to see the good in everything. A good lesson for all of us
Surprised when you were talking about the heat in Arizona you never mentioned how great it feels with no humidity. DRY HEAT 👍 Speaking of Arizona I'm glad you left for Colorado so we dont have to hear you mispronounce Tonopah again 😂
LOL:)
85 here in az is a nice day. Dont consider it summer time till we hit 100

Imagine if you were there in July and it was 45C/113F during the day!

So, wait, you didn't hug the big cactus? But hugged the palm tree? 😅😂
Josh they call that scrub brush sage it's all over the desert west Washington to California east all the way to Texas and Nebraska probably the Dakotas too😊
Saguaro cactus are excusive to the Sonoran desert. Can live to be 200 years old or more. Protected by law.
You're thinking Sahara Desert in Africa... sand and sand dunes. Coincidentally, this time of the year the prevailing Saharan winds start picking up that sand and blowing it across the Atlantic into the Southern United States... so you may be seeing that kind of sand, too!
Josh, if I were to guess I would think that the general elevation in New Mexico would inhibit the growth of palm trees.
It just gets hotter. Glad you made it down here safe.
When you climb that cactus, you need to film that!
Many Canadians, especially from Alberta, spend the winter in Arizona. Many of them own properties in Arizona.
OK, it’s “ TONE-a-PAW”. Ask someone there! Please
New Mexico does not have even one palm tree, it's a fact of life lol
they also called "Joshua trees"
It was 26 c in VANCOUVER yesterday
it was 95 here today ( north of Dallas) , time to shed those 25 lbs i gained over winter !!!!! LOL. the Sahara Desert is the mother of all Deserts , so much of a Desert it has Desert twice in it's name ( Sahara is Desert in Arabic ) lol
Love the desert and this time or year the cactus are blooming certain kinds of they beautiful🎉
Don't hug the cactus 🌵
Utah is beautiful
Stay safe
I don't think that you want to go hug a cactus, you will "get the point"real quick 😂
Arizona Trucker. You are missing some of the best Scenic routes in all of USA. Arizona Colorado utah
No covers needed over the front then Josh? Safe travels, thanks for great videos.
Don’t get too close to the cactus. Those holes house tarantulas.
AZ is a tough area for flatbed freight. I can imagine finding something directly to Canada.
As I would say "sweating like a Canadian in Mexico"
At least it's dry heat. In the South, you will get BOTH the heat and the HUMIDITY 😊
HUMIDITY SUCKS
Yup we get a little bit of humidity in my state of Australia and I dispise it totally puke
Dry heat… like my oven
I believe your Google in the last video said it was 86
That’s some really good fuel mileage for the W 900 that’s really good you’re not gonna find a better load than that
We're basically America but with less rights and more expensive everything.
And we don’t have MAID (medical assistance in dying) yet!
Don't worry, give it a little time at the rate we're going. We're gonna end up with the same amount of rights that you guys have, and there's a good chance we may end up passing you at some point in the cost of everything due to inflation And we still won't have universal health care. 😂
Soearto catus I believe Josh. Not sure if it's spelled that way or not. Yeah they are big uns.😊
Saguaro Cactus only in Arizona.
Well, at least the west is parking if I was a driver that would make me want to run the West Coast more than East Coast but you gotta go where they sent you
Well, you certainly do get around bud
And I bet you it’s not very cold
7:10 it snowed in Arizona this past weekend too 🤣
Boy Josh. You really get around.
You should have stopped in Winslow and checked out the meteor crater
You made it to utah. Probably will go north on I15 to Alberta.
I'm orginally from Deer River MN.
Retired in Morgan Utah / I84.
Safe traveling through the Warsch front through SLC.
What are the Canadian Made things you hauled and what kind of project are they using them on or for out there?
I am not sure that I want to go past the scale with that red Freightliner I think the first place I’d be taken at the shop
Josh, your video was making me laugh complaining about the heat in the mid 80s. Moved to Phoenix from St. Louis Missouri 10 years ago. I left St. Louis 37 years ago for Las Vegas. Asthmatic pulmonary issues. The desert did miracles for my breathing.
"A whole lotta nothin', all the way to Canada".
Yeah, they’ll find something they always do you like you say
Remember, it's a dry heat
I believe Super Trucker Dan lives in arizona, and it seems he has difficulty getting loads out of arizona.
One way to find out go touch it lol I wouldn’t you’ll probably get some huge Sorenson you if you touch that
Your in a western movie Josh.
THAT'S BEAUTIFUL JOSH ARIZONA
That guy needs to fill up his blinker fluid!
Palm trees 🌴 are not native to Arizona. Also, the saguaro cactus you are seeing can live to well over 100 years old. They are found in the Sonoran Desert and possibly a desert in Spain (?)
Those are saguaro cacti. common throughout the Sonoran desert of the american southwest
Trucker Josh in my neck of the woods!
Loving the videos josh ❤ jim uk
They are called saguaro cactus if they're tall their fairly old.
Heat???? it was like 90F today 😂
Dang Josh you were hauling lots of sailboat fuel weren't you on your way to Grand Junction Co. What kind of mileage did you get on the deadhead ?😊
Old blue sure is sounding good
Come on Josh we ALL know that signal/ indicator use is optional because it will wear out the globes Ive just come back from the UK/ Ireland and it’s a thing there to I noticed while driving around don’t u dare wear out those globes
