    I was a H-D rider since 1982, but I've got a 2016 Indian Chieftain now, and I love it. It's a lot of fun tweeking my former H-D bros, they are such SNOBS! I'd like to add an R18B to my collection, and watch their heads EXPLODE! Nice bike!

      I'm glad you're enjoying the chieftain. Those are SWEET looking bikes!

    Your videos are always easy to follow. Good friendly teaching style.

      I appreciate it, Byron. I've tried to really tighten up the videos so someone who needs help with one step can scroll to that point versus 10 minutes of me telling stories like many TH-cam people do.

      You can mount some pegs to the crash bars.

    Adam, have you seen the Dr. Jekyl & Mr. Hyde exhaust system for the R18? Looks pretty sweet.

      It does. But I am okay with the stock sound.

    Nicely done, Adam. Thanks for this and the maint vids. How many miles on the bike thus far? Trouble-free miles? Thanks!

      I'm about to hit 4,000 miles! Will get to do the 6K mile service before Winter. Other than adding creature comforts, I'm very happy with the R18.

    Hi Adam. I have a Transcontinental and would like to install the leg rests. BMW says the leg rests do not fit the TC. From your video I can see no reason why they would not. It doesn’t look like they would interfere with the lower fairings. Do you see any problem putting those on a TC?

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly cannot see why they won’t fit and I’ve seen a few people with TCs who have them.

    What is the diameter of the Engine-Guard/tube both in metric and in inches? thanks for the reply.

      @AdamChandler86  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can message Clearwater. I think they sold me 1.5” diameter.

      Hi Harriz, you’ll have to do some digging on your own. I usually compile a complete list on my blog but have not done so yet.

    I did not know these have a steering stabilizer from the factory

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jay, yep but it's not progressive or adjustable. Just offers a tiny bit of straightening force when you're on the interstate and loaded up. I will eventually be replacing all of the suspension & stabilizer but that'll be a 2024 project.

    The guard should have been a bit more wider and thicker, given the weight of the bike.

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe. It's OEM so BMW hopefully tested it. They're trying to combine tip-over structure and rigidity with style and a price point. I'm expecting them to work just once to be honest. We'll just have to see.

    • @douglaselliott8298

      @@AdamChandler86 "Tip-over" bars should theoretically 'work' multiple times. It's when velocity(or its sudden reduction) and corresponding enertia conspire in a CRASH that deteriorates its reusability. Some sacrificial medium affixed where the bar meets pavement should save their finish until one actually "crashes" the bike.

    500 bucks and you can't supply the hardware? come on bmw

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RevZilla says this part number "KIT" includes hardware. MaxBMW didn't include it or at least it wasn't in the box. I have an email out to their parts department but no answer yet so I had to get something locally.
