Bonjour, This RUST free and garaged for the past 30 years Citroen Deux Chevaux, is a 1983 Charleston 2CV6, registered in CA as a 1965 to forgo smog issues. The Argo number, 2404, on the firewall shows it came of the line on 6/9/1983. The maroon factory color remains on the inside, trunk and under the hood. The body and paint was done by Burke Auto in Long Beach, CA. All maroon on the outside is painted Red and the original Black was repainted black. The 602CC, 29HP 2 cylinder boxer is upgraded with a Big Bore kit for an extra 50 CC. A POWER TUBE is installed for an additional 10% HP (as per BURTON). Electronic ignition. LED lights front and back. New exhaust and shocks, brakes, clutch and much more done by JF. MARTIN at MARSS Automotive,THE CITROEN specialist, (6616448612) in Santa Clarita. Five new Michelin 125X15 tires.
A brand new soft top, red/white striped from Matt's Soft Tops in the UK. A red/white sunscreen. A "Citroen chrome" lockable gas cap. A chrome luggage rack with picnic basket. Chrome bumpers and hubcaps. Chrome trim around lights front and back as well as chrome headlight with eyelids. Push-out rear windows.
The interior is done by Dan Borunda ,STITCH Corp 9 in Norwalk, who also does work for Jay Leno. White leather seats with red piping and embroidery. Steering wheel in multi-color leather with cell phone holder in the middle. The trunk and spare tire cover in leather and embroidery. German square weave carpeting with NO metal showing. Front seats raised and padded for comfort, (lower back support). Armrests on both front doors and a custom removable armrest in between the front seats with pockets on doors and armrest. Custom leather top cover with embroidery. Flashlight holder between door and seat. Two cupholders for thermos and small fire extinguisher (included). Everything works which gives an anxiety-free ride. The colors POP and the contrast is great. I have had it for four years, it is probably the nicest DUCK in the land. Keeping up with traffic is NO problem and can do 70 on the freeway all day. CA license plate is "COOL 2CV", and it also comes a custom European front plate. All parts are available in the USA and/or Europe at fair cost.
