Clean pool: Water evaporates quickly. Dirty (rest-)water gets splashed out - then refill. Preparation: It depends on how serious they take this lifestyle. Some have no help, others have help by the family, some may cheat. Fire: There is lots of wood that can't be used for building. Candles are allowed for light and protection from insects. This is what I learned during all this time. Maybe I am wrong :).
