Lucia is such an anti FEH unit. She cancels specials, guaranteed follow ups/follow up denials, flash, and vantage/desperation. But then she gets stat buffs, speed based damage, damage reduction, and she gets to take advantage of the benefits of vital astra and the finish skills, on top of coming with Repel 4... On top of that, she cancels aoe specials that would be intercepted by a far saver, even though the far saver is eating the attack instead, and the devs said this was intentional? At least Fallen Edelgard was a defeatable opponent if you used a modicum of your brain. Unsurprising since people still think she is good enough to make top 8 on this recent Hero Rises, even though she isn't even useful in pve content like people seem to think for some reason. All you needed was anti armor weapons, or NFU, or aoe specials, or one of the many counters that were made for her (Legendary Male Byleth). At least she didn't shut down your unit completely. IS just loves ruining this game with their awful inclusions and decisions. Still funny to look back at their quote about looking into powercreep. No wonder they stopped doing surveys and things. They are just coasting with this game at this point.
@SACREDEIGHT From the outside, maybe, but when you've gotta deal with it, nah. The fact that Lucia will most likely pop up randomly in Training Tower/Tempest Trials/Forging Bonds is just the worst.
I remember Surtr and Grima and Takumi being the height of my headaches. Nowadays, they aren't even worth worrying about. Not because i got better, but because i can crush them under a wall of stats and DR without thinking. This game is doomed to entire the last sprint of the Powercreep death spiral. Especially after they introduced TURN ENDING DEBUFFS.

She does have an awkward weakness that exists faster units that initiate on Lucia that have special up and finish skill get the benefit of finish twice because special doesn’t trigger so a unit like l!dimitri with ninja naginata and a special ready will just have 3 sources of true damage on both attacks.
@@baeleth6469 Normally though you would loose The extra damage after special triggers on 2nd hit but since it’s still in ready state it goes off twice. Obviously not triggering special sucks it was just an odd interaction I noticed with byleth demote.
@@michaelbayley9432 No, that's how it usually works too. If the Special triggered on the first attack, you also get the bonus damage on the second attack because the "Special triggered during combat"-condition is fulfilled.
Just wanna ask, can she play the Omni Tank role like B!Dimitri? Is she on the level of B!Dimitri as well? Just wanna try something else for Aether Raids.
She won't perform as well as Dimitri but since you can't activate special she's at least capable of holding out a lot of enemies and _ironicaly enough_ tank like a champ

fought a Lucia once and my whole team quite literally couldn't do anything to her so i just select traded, unit for unit and carefully kited around her using Ninja Fjorm and FT!Tana. Once I got the point lead I just ran. Alear with the new Robin now tho, Lucia can't do much.

Edelgard was really scary for a month or two and then a gajillion units that hard-counter her dropped. FEH is very willing to take a hammer to the tools tank units like Fedel rely on, but godswords are the favorite child; they'd be a lot more reluctant to touch any of the shit that makes Lucia obnoxious.
@@jetza2635 can’t use defensive specials like Pavise either. All in and before combat specials can’t trigger. Some specials do things without triggering. Galeforce triggers after combat.
Unpopular opinion but here it goes. Lucia hits this critical mass with 2-3 support units. That means that a Lucia comp has 2-3 units that they don’t expect to see combat. That means you can throw 2-3 units at Lucia to kill her, and still come out even because the remainder of the team is non-combat units. She’s still counterless and obnoxious, but trading units into her isn’t as horrible as it might seem.
Unless the enemy team is the top 20 cancer units of the game fully built, merged, dragon flowered, and ascended, with a screwball twist you didn't see coming.

Isn't that just how Finish skills work? The condition is skill is ready OR skill triggered during/before combat.

I never considered stacking true damage like this since I'm used to running units that don't need to, but that'd help against atk reduction builds 🤔
