  • I am loving Batu Ferringhi, this place was a major surprise to me.
    Far more than I expected, to the point that I wished I had booked to stay longer.
    But, I have no doubt I will be back soon.

    The Char Koay Teow at Ferringhi Station hawker center is the best in Batu Ferringhi.

    To start things off, the Adzan, call of prayer, is always live from Mosque and Musolla, and of course on the TV and radios are all recorded ones. Tell you more when we meet again. Bon voyage my friend 👋

    Been a while since I've been to your channel. Enjoying your wall-to-wall natter as usual. Keep it up!

      Lol, thanks for popping in to say hello. You should see the amount of 'natter' I edit out. 😃

      @@SilverfoxJB It's quite refreshing TBH. I like that you say it as you see it, no typical tourist BS. We Malaysians need to know we look to outsiders, not that you are an outsider anymore 😬. BTW, I've been watching "Escape to the Country" BBC episodes and I think the British countryside is gorgeous! 😍

    I've never eaten deep fried food in Penang. Last trip pre covid hsd kway teow soup n porridge w intestines n black pudding 😋. Dough fritters dipped in sone very good coffee. I abandoned d hotel breakfast n went to market. Just join any queue of locals.

      Sounds very interesting, that's why I need to go back and spend more time in the area. What is the local name for that dish?

      I went to chowastra market. Hope stalls still there, now I see a modern covered market. They r called porridge n kway teow soup only they asked me if i want to add things n being super greedy I replied add everything 😁 Not cheap but hey, I'm on holiday! Also ordered from coffeeshop char kway teow, less noodles more chives n sprouts n duck egg. Perfect balance.

    Char kway tiaw is a chinese food. Malays cook it differently (wet and soggy). It should be cooked dry with oil and hot work (wok hei). Good cockles, bean sprout, prawns, etc etc

    • @SilverfoxJB
      @SilverfoxJB  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not keen on it as I don't like the flat noodles and as for cockles I don't really trust them as I prefer them to be cleaned and cooked

    The most over crowded locations in south east asia is bali and thailand. If people like a quiet vibe eg on a beach, walking in towns then we have such vibe.

      I usually avoid beach locations because of too many people. That's why I loved Batu Ferringhi

      🤣 I love some fish and detest some fish. I also hate the way fish in Malaysia is served with bone in. I hate having to search through my food for bones, the same with Chicken here. I love shellfish in most places but definitely don't trust shellfish in Malaysia. So maybe I do look wary.
