  • The SOG powerpint is a seriously capable tool in a compact design. A great backup for your primary tool.

      @@EPLobo nice! Glad to hear it has served you well. It is an outstanding little tool. I carry it as a backup to my main tool, and it has really come in handy. I made this video because I feel that this tool just doesn’t get enough credit.

    Good revisit

      @@Jimbonj thank you! I appreciate the compliment. I see a lot of channels racing eachother to post videos on all the new releases. I feel a lot of really good gear gets lost in the background. I try to bring my subscribers the best information they can get to make the best choices in their gear selections. Sometimes that means taking a step back and recognizing that a tool has proven itself to be worthy. I mentioned this tool to a group one day and was surprised how few of them had really given it a shot. New gear is cool, but time tells us whether a design has staying power. I feel the Powerpint has done that.

      @FloydCotton-hx4jh thanks I knew of this one years ago now my needs and interests have changed. Now I'm considering this if I can hide a ,swiss army knife tooth pick, in it somewhere lol

      @ I believe it is worth a revisit. It’s one of those tools that doesn’t get enough credit in my opinion. I will experiment with the architecture and see if I can stash a pair of tweezers somewhere. This is a great idea by the way.

    Just bought the Powerpint after carrying a Charge tti for years. It just gets a bit heavy and hangs on me a bit. The Powerpint does 95% of what I needed the Chagre for and I never feel its size on my hip.

      @@raizt1596 bravo! Totally agree. The Powerpint is big on performance and small in size. I’m glad to hear your getting good use out of yours. Mine literally travels with me everywhere.

    What's your opinion on the file? Perhaps I got a lemon, but mine seems dull compared to leatherman or victorinox standards.
    I really want to like this tool, but that kinda ruins it for me.

    • @FloydCotton-hx4jh
      @FloydCotton-hx4jh  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jenswurm the SOG Powerpint is a very small tool. The file is only about 1 3/4in long and fairly narrow. It is far from the best file I have used but not too bad for such a small platform. I used it to take the burr off of a piece of steel I was working on and it did fine for its size. But you are correct, it is not Leatherman or Victorinox quality. For a tiny tool at the thirty dollar mark, I think it is just fine.
      Thanks for the comment and question. I really appreciate you watching my video!

      @@FloydCotton-hx4jh Thanks for your reply! I think the price point is really important. Here in Germany it's difficult to get it for less than 55€, and at that same price you can get a Leatherman Rev or a Victorinox Handyman, so i feel that at least in my local market it also has to compete with these in terms of build quality.

      @ this is a great point. You are absolutely correct. I am in the United States, so it is a very different market here. Price is very important and weighing your options is absolutely the wise thing to do.
