I iron my finished dps as well that have popping drills and it works for me. I also roll it with a roller while the canvas is still warm. I suggest this to people in the groups that i am in...and everyone thinks i am crazy
You could also use your drill pen to scratch the bubble so it lays down. I have used that process a few times and havent had issues with popping drills. Works like a charm. Tfs!
Be careful when you iron the canvas, you can warp it. A few of my canvases specifically say "Do not iron" on them. I'm glad this worked for you, Nataliya!
Thanx, I would have never thought of an iron!! I modpodged mine yesterday, & some of my beads came out. I will try to iron the back & put the ones back in that came out
Fantastic I have one I think I will try the ironing on The drills have not popped but seem to be a bit loose and I bet that will make a huge help Thanks so much for the great tip THUMBS UP
Thanks for the demonstration. My canvas the glue is not very tacky and drills are different sizes with burrs on the sides as well. I'm going to try this and hope it will make the glue sticky. It's a 120x80 and not half way yet but almost. Would you suggest I use glue on the first half and then finish the rest. They keep popping off and making me so crazy. The DP is so beautiful and I payed way too much for it I can't not finish it.
Ally square drills are doing this on my paiting ans I don't have air bubbles, I think its BC they are fitting to tightly. How do I fix it? My painting is beautiful and its a mothers day gift and my first big canvas and I love it! But the are popping up so bad that I've pushed them down so much a few of them are looking rough.
Tiffany I agree with you. It's not air bubbles causing the problem it is the fact that the drills are too tight fitting. They are overcrowded and ironing is not going to fix that problem. I have just spent 6 months doing a three piece panel of square drills and I have tried rolling many times, and I sit there for ages with a magnifying glass and light pushing the drills down one by one, yet they still pop. I have also even trimmed some of the larger drills with a pair of nail clippers, but it doesn't matter what I do my paintings still have popping up drills all over. In fact when I took one out of my cupboard this morning to check it at least three drills had popped right out. I don't want to spray with glue (tried that on another one and it lost all of it s sparkle) or use mod podge because from what I have seen on the internet that makes them lose their sparkle too. I am at a loss as I want to have these framed but am afraid to take them to the picture framer while they are like this. They are the last square drill paintings I will ever do. Round all the way for me now.
@@daphnebell6209 yes I will never ever buy square drill again even if they are free I don't want them! I've done a round one and no issues and I'm on my second round and no issues. I got a refund on the one I had issues with. They gave me a gift card but they only have square so i wouldnt buy them so I used it on a light pad might as well try it out since they don't offer round. My painting is a 1 panel but it was gorgeous it was the rainbow colored dragonfly dream catcher and they were square and I got it done quick so it didn't dry out and I left it laying flat with tons of weight on it and still doing that but I cant move it they still are popping so I'm going to have to trash it which I hate doing.
@@tiffanyburns6905 It would be a shame to trash it after so much work and because it's a gift. I have decided to buy some Mod Podge Gloss and paint it on one of my panel pieces and see what happens. I think I will paint it onto a small section first and if it works and the drills stop popping then I will do the whole of the painting. I've really got nothing to lose as the way the paintings are now it's going to be hard to get them framed. It's a manufacturing problem and I wish they would fix it.
@ Tiffany Burns there is a lady on TH-cam called Studio Sam and she shows on her channel what is the best sealer to use. Check it out before you trash your painting. Using a sealer is worth a try to save it.
Hi there! Thank you for this video. I'm having an issue with a few creases (which I will fix how you showed in your video) and my last color of the drills not fitting onto the canvas. Would you be able to take a look at the video I just uploaded (my only video on here at all) and make a suggestion? I would appreciate it so much 🙏🏻
Just checked my DP in the morning, and happy to say, that drills stays strong . I even shake my canvas to make sure. All good now

Eileen Caulkins yes I did that, but glue didn’t stick to the canvas

This was a very good demonstration. I have always been afraid to iron my canvas and especially with beads. Thanks for this valuable video.
You are welcome May. Thank you
