I've been fighting for two days with an off shoulder ruffle top.- grrrrrr. In desperation I've been surfing youtube and I've found your video. Thank you soooooooooooooo much I'm now going to finish my dress by unpicking everything I've done so far and starting again!!!!!! IF ONLY I had found this first what an amazing straight forward way you have put this together thank you so much.
Hi from South Africa 🇿🇦 completed a top for my daughter last night, made it from an old shirt, as I'm trying to recycle as much as I can. It came out beautifully and she loves it. Thank you for your video took the fear out of it. Ciao
Thanks for this tutorial! You've saved my sanity trying to figure out how to make this style top without a pattern (last minute for a costume party). It's a great little top and I think I'll be making more of them!
Love the way you explain it as not to technical! Just straight to the point 🤗Thank you! I will be making a couple of those and making it longer so it’s a dress ☺️
+Rosie Hull Thankyou Rosie, glad you like it. I actually put big books inside to stretch out clothes to see their real shape but thought this helped with the proportion. Tree X
This is an adorable top and I love the bold pattern on your fabric. Perfect for summer. I'll be on the hunt for some similar fabric here in Southern California. I like to buy old clothes from thrift/charity shops for those interesting fabrics. Cheers!
Hello Mindy, yes...you are right, thrift stores are a great way to find unusual fabric. This one is from a shop called Marimeko and it's a famous Finnish design called Unikko and I love it. It's not what you'd call a bargain fabric but is like buying a piece of wearable artwork. Thankyou. Tree X
STITCHLESS TV how to sew your own style tutorials No it hasn't yet. When does come in I'm going to send you a picture. I'm so excited!! I'm going to have a Tree original !!!! When become a famous designer.
Absolutely LOVE that fabric, Tree. I'm naturally biased towards anything that even remotely resembles a poppy, but even so, it's just so lively & fun. A perfect choice :)
+Joanne Carroll Thankyou. It's a very famous print by a company based in Finland called Marimekko and this design is called Unikko. It's not pricey but is a unique design. Glad you like it. Thankyou. Tree X
Wow !! Amazingly pretty ... I’m getting on to my machine right away and sew one for my Daughter who is about your daughters age too ... you have made it look sooo much . Big big thank you

Thanks for your great video. It is just what I wanted. I have been thinking I could do this style without a pattern and your video has now given me the confidence. Great little model! Greetings from Australia.
Hello, oh really......it isn't too simple for you then! Ok, well we have a mega simple brilliant way to do a kimono coming soon if I can edit it before the summer. Thankyou. Tree x

+Princess Rose Thankyou so much, glad you liked it. We have lots more if this sort of thing!! Look at our latest tutorial of how to sew an easy Kimono Robe, you might like that too! Tree X
Also, if your machine has an overcasting stitch & corresponding foot then you can use that on the raw edges. I have the Brother SQ9285 and stitches # 7, 8, & 9 are the built in overcasting stitches (IMO #9 looks most like a serged edge) and foot G is the overcasting foot.
STITCHLESS TV how to sew your own style tutorials. Oh no Tree.I love this area but not for longer. My brother live here and I pass summer with my family.I 'll be back in september.Baci baci😙

Remember when you had the white blouse stretched out. It kind of reminded me of a men's shirt. So off to see what fabric I might like. Do you think you could tell us the difference between buying fabric from America & UK/London & Japan? You have a nice week.
+Linda Mendoza I would love to do a comparison like that but only really know about the UK and a bit of Paris fabric Shop scene. Do you live in the US? Tree X
+Yasmine and the Aliens. OK, well I would say mix it up and make a clutch bag, kimono etc. Sometimes with scraps, to sew them all together 1st in an interesting way so as to create a new piece of fabric, can be an interesting way of making a new garment that looks colour locked with interesting style lines. Look at our colour block tutorial too.... Tree X
+quazylade90 Hello.....was just a but worried it was a built wise for the about if fabric in our frill. We were working to fitting in our top into just 70cms so it was a bit tight....Tree X
