The South Glen Shiel Ridge - 7 Munro in One Day

  • In may of 2016, Bee and Andy tackled the South Glen Sheil Ridge, taking in the seven munro that stretch across its back. The walk is a great day out, but fairly demanding at 17.5 miles and at least 2369 meters of assent, (figures taken off Andy's SatMap- which tends to under estimate by about 10%).
It started in poor visibility and damp cold, but the mountain Weather Service was correct in predicting it's rise and eventual clearing to show the stunning views to be had from the ridge.
The walk is fairly straight forward, with relatively easy naving. There's a few bits where the terrain gets rougher, with a few long drops to test your head for hight's, and one very mild scramble after the final summit. Nothing that would give an experienced walker cause for concern.
It proved to be a great day out and a rare opportunity to bag lots of Munro's in one day. it could easily be turned into a multi-day back packing trip, with plenty of camp sites to choose from along the way.
Hope you enjoy the vid and enjoy your outdoors time!
    Andy

Another great video, enjoyed following you over the tops of this classic route. I tried to split it over 2 trips but ended up needing 3 when bad weather cut short my second attempt. Great stuff. Atb. Mick.
