In this video you can see how i do a hard and heavy tool test on thé Ferm Mini Chainsaw. It´s a 12 volt chainsaw sold by Action webshop. Ferm Mini Chainsaw Test An Review | How I Completly Burned this 12v tools Battery. Ferm Mini Chainsaw Tested to the Limit | How I Completly Burned this 12v tools Battery
I tested this saw on 3 sizes wood and the last on completly burned the batteies print..
Is de Ferm mini chainsaw good?:
For very light cutting its okay, but it feels and looks like a toy. So.. no i won't buy this chainsaw again.
What happend?
I pushed it very hard on i big piece of wood forcing the saw a bit. and after 4 times in jammed and then smoke got out of the battery.
The main purpose of this saw tool is of course gardening.
This test triggers me to do a test the mini saw from Parkside or bosch and dewalt in future video's, Any suggestions leave a comment!

I love how you opened up the battery to show us what happened to it.
This is good for opening the box on the 20 inch gas saw you just bought.
Wow 3 screws holding that battery together?! I’m pretty sure the best M12 batteries only have 1 screw holding them together. Milwaukee take note!
Yeah well, Compare the quality of this one to a kids toy 😂
Too bad the battery failed! It's such a handy litlle tool- if it were to be designed well🙃
The battery circuit seems strange to me. The liion cells would normally just be connected to output, without any transistors, because during heavy use, current goes very high, more than 20Amps and you would need very large heavy duty transistors. They can be used for charging circuit, of course, but this is not in use when running the tool, only when battery is in charger. Thus makes no sense to overheat and melt the solder on those components when running the tool.
Unless the motor needs 18V or 42V and they used a 12V battery with components to increase the voltage, which is not good design.
Very well. Explanation, thanks,
Same problem here
Did you try it with a new battery and did it work again ?
I realised the battery is almost the price of the machine., so I didn't bought a new one
If that component that came off is still working then you can most likely just some it back on and see if the battery works again.
Personally i think that the part was just not soldered on well enough and got loose. I’ve pushed my ferm tools pretty hard so far and they work just fine. Not the best most accurate tools but they do what they need to do.🤷🏼♂️
You Probably just got unlucky by getting a bad battery.
The battery is burned, a new battery is almost as expensive as the whole set
where i buy another battery for this ?
They sell it at action shop, only way to expensive. I had the same issue a burned battery
Well this was for light branches not for an entire tree or 😂
Haha no, battery totally burned, of course for small branches it works OK
How much does it cost ?
It was around 39 euros, but I would not recommend it
