Considering the horrifying results of large scale battles at sea on Earth, how much worse is he survival rate of a space battle if they ever take place in real life?. Just asking, you know.
Starhunter Terra I would say very very slim. I mean you have to remember that in space there is no air so that if the ship that you're on gets torn apart, you will die in seconds. Not to mention that a space ship is basically a freckin TIME BOMB that may explode any second. So yeah, pretty slim.
well there are oxygen shields which is probably why hull breaches don't do much to the passengers except suffocate them when they are out of the shield and suck them out of the ship
I could actually see space battles being *more* survivable than naval battles, since space ships can't sink, and in combat, would be depressurized anyway, so fires couldn't spread, either.
If tactical nukes and microwave warheads were used, it would be terrible. Especially the microwave warheads, they would punch holes through entire ships, people and whatever else.
it depends really on the setting if your talking about from a show if not then would 100% depend on our level of technology when the battler occurred
if we have advanced tech and everyone were's a space suit of some kind then probably about the same the real difference is whether each person's suit has a transponder to track because if not they are very very unlikely to be found
i would use books like star carrier as a factor of how likely pilot's would be retrieved but people from ships travelling at high speed's unless there still in the wreck and the wreck isn't n a trajectory out of the solar system
that isn't taking into account solar radiation which would fuck you up if your dont have sufficient protection

yeah i dont recognise the stargate epi that paticular part was in hmmm it maybe the one where they tried to escape aphosisis ship and i cant remember how but both ships ended up in another galaxy and there was a powerful alien race that kicked ass (im only remembering that i could be wrong)
