This is the type of thing I love about me, aging! I get to see what is old get new, again. I "barrelled" through the first 40 years on the wings of my ADD. Oh, don't get me wrong! I managed to peel off tons of great memories, buried, but still hold dear. Now, with tech by my side, I am able to dig deeper! And today my drilling produced a "gusher" of my music history. Today, for the second time in my 80 years, a melody, a guitar, a set of lyrics, opened up my tears. This morning, while mining Brandi Carlile, I played THE PROMISE, featuring, Catherine Carlile. AND, THERE IT WAS! Me, over 20 years ago, crying like a baby listening to THE PROMISE, featuring, Tracy Chapman! Did that ever happen to you? Thank you, both, @tracychapman and @brandicarlile .

I think this is the Tracy Chapman's song. This is my first time hearing it and I'm blown away how gentle it is and how beautiful are the lyrics and the melody ! watching two great talented people and in love sing it together ❤
Oh, yeah! I knew I had heard it before. Was trying to place it. Definitely Chapman. These girls are getting it on. Reminds of their friends the Indigo Girls.
My husband died 9 years ago. This song reminds me of how I told him I would never be able to replace him and it has proven to be true. I love him today the same as I did then. I’m copying these words into my memory journal. 😢
I wish Brandi (and Catherine ) would perform Promise every show..or at least more often.. this beauty transforms and speaks directly to the soul and heart...the song suits them so well, I believe Tracy Chapman would agree :) To dream some more, what a joy would be to have them with Tracy Chapman on the stage singing together !
