    This channel is slick! I love the gear, fish footage and the passion for fly fishing. Way to go on putting together such high quality stuff. Other fly fishing channels are cool but this one has got it all.

    That one huge rainbow looked like a hatchery fish with the beat up tail fin.

    • @Wish4Fish
      @Wish4Fish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rainbows and Brown (except for the Zebra Trout) are not native to Spain so technically they are all hatchery fish. Although they are stoked in this stream at a very small size. My guess is that it took a beating during spawn. Also as you see there are MONSTER Brown in here and I bet they compete for territory. That Bow was the only that I caught that was beat up. Who knows....

    Were those stockers?

    • @Wish4Fish
      @Wish4Fish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only native trout in Spain is the Zebra Trout. Basically a Brown. All these trout were stocked although this is also a naturally reproducing stream as well. If you’re asking if these are fed planter fish, no they are not. They were not stocked as beast and definitely not pellet fed.

    • @ibookje
      @ibookje 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They sure look like recent stockers. Bitten off tails, short nosed fat fish

    • @Wish4Fish
      @Wish4Fish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Bow was the only one that was even questionable.

    • @farioreo
      @farioreo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I fish all over spain especially leon ,asturias and cantabria.The only native trout in Spain is the salmo fario or brown trout.some of the rivers i fish that drain into the Atlnatic or cantabria sea also vahe sea run browns salmo trutta trutta.A few very few Pyrinees streams have wild brook and wild rainbow from previous stockings.I much rather catch 50 8 to 12 imch wild browns in a pyrinees mountain stream.For large wild brown the Pyrinees is not by far the best option.Leon,palencia,Asturias,cantabria,salamanca etc is where you will find them.take care

    I recommend you try barbel fly fishing in Extremadura( all spain contains this fish but in this region are bigger) or in Madrid were are more delicated fish. In general it is more fighter fish than trout.

    • @Wish4Fish
      @Wish4Fish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We would of went Barbel fishing but it was a bit early when I was there. I will be back to fish Barbel, Zebra and higher elevation stream sometime for sure.

    • @cgb9244
      @cgb9244 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wish4Fish in my opinion the barbel has similarity to the sucker but i dont know why is a good fighter even because in spain we have bigger lakes or pure water. People in europe think barbel is like carp but they are wrong. I hope you enjoy spanish waters, eventually spanish fishermen dont appreciate our country with a lot of fish and opportunities.

    I’m curious. I noticed in a lot of your videos you strip in like all your fish. Why don’t you ever get them on the reel. That’s what it’s there for. Then you don’t have that problem with line getting wrapped around your reel...

    • @Wish4Fish
      @Wish4Fish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can strip in line much faster than reeling. Besides you're always going to have line out in the beginning. I let them get to the reel when I need to. Although with trout that's hardly ever necessary. Only on the Henry's Fork and in Iceland have I been taken to the reel.
