Really wish they would have something like this for the Deaf West production. Everything the DWSA cast and crew has said about their work makes me want to know more.
@@wonderwildly24 Absolutely the same for me. I was introduced to DWSA first and it is always going to be my defining Spring Awakening. I saw Spring Awakening with the original cast on a high school class trip. I totally can't imagine that happening today. It was fabulous. It's fun seeing how incredibly successful so many of the cast members have become since.
I am in the middle of my community theatre's production of Spring Awakening. To hear these guys who made the original Broadway show talk about how much trouble they had to deal with to get it on stage is EXACTLY what we are dealing with. We struggled to find a performance space, don't have a music director, and are trying our best to raise money due to how controversial it is. But because of how much dedication and effort we are putting in, no matter how much rejection and hate we are getting, I'm sure it is going to pay off in the end, like these guys here. Can't wait to see this.
I saw this show multiple times on Broadway with the original cast! I can’t believe it’s been 15 years. I’m so thrilled that so many of the original cast members became so successful after the show. Miss it. Can’t wait to see this doc!

I am beyond happy this beautiful production is being recognized on HBO and that the cast is coming together again 🥹 I was hoping for a revival- this is so much more intimate.
So excited. Thank god they filmed the reunion concert. Sold out in 3 minutes. I did actually got to see it on Broadway at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre (with about 85% of the original cast including Lea and Jon). Went for my 16th birthday. Sat on the stage. Really unique experience to feel the adrenaline, the angst, and the action take place all around (especially during B**** OF LIVING and TOTALLY F*****). I got spat on my Groff during the reformatory when he jumps off the chair attached to the wall. 5 months later, I auditioned for it. They did a huge open call for replacements in the Broadway production & for the tour. Didn't work out but it was all thanks to my late mom who encouraged me to go in. I remember my mom looking at me after TOTALLY F*****, she said "I can see you doing this. She called it and then a few weeks later, we found out about the audition. Still a learning curb I needed.
