How do you like the Amato water keys as opposed to the usual ones? If the Amato keys are better, why aren't they put on the regular Bach Strads; and why is there just one water key on the regular strads, whereas this commercial model has two?
Kurt......great video! Your videos are very informative. I have a question about you mouthpiece.....I noticed it's cut for sleeves. In your opinion, what is the desired 'gap' for this commercial trumpet. Thanks for your expertise. Grady
Hey Grady, Yes it is a Bob Reeve's custom. I talk about it here on my other channel: th-cam.com/video/uqBvG4Oxki0/w-d-xo.html It's funny, but I only use #2 or #3 and never spent a lot of time at Bob's shop in Valencia with the sleeves. So It would depend on: 1. You! 2. What style of mouthpiece 3. What you want to achieve: more or less resistance, or better slotting, or more flexibility So, likely you would need to spend time with several sleeves and go through them all to find which seems like a good fit for you personally
there is an issue about the cheaper bach trumpets. Here in Brazil I think bach is the most pirated brand of trumpets. I friend of mine bought one on the internet, and he was not a professional at that time, and a few months later a teacher of him realized that the trumpet was not original. so my advice is to buy on a physical store (except for Esteve of the video; I believe uncle Kurt) a bach trumpet AND have the assistance of a professional who knows how to recognize an original bach insturment, specially if it is cheaper than 3500$.
Although the Bach Commercial is an excellent choice for and lead and commercial trumpet playing, the particular .468 mult bore original V-raptor Bob Reeves Cambrass Spa Trumpet is superior. Maybe it is because this was an original prototype collaboration and play-tested a million times to make it perfect? I don't know. Or is it the large bore, larger than the Bach Commercial plus stepped up into eventually a smaller than .468 bore all in the same horn that makes it better for me? Not sure. As much as I like this one of a kind V-raptor, I have heard from students that their VRii New Raptor is better and even easier blowing than the one I play on......
Well-organized, clear, well-presented and informative!
Thank ya
I played a old Mt Vernon Bach Strat. Love the old style case like mine was
nice

EXCEPTION: If I put a link in my video to access and buy an instrument, you can take that to the bank!
I’m thinking about getting an Adams A9 (modeled after a committee). Have you tried it and if so, what do you think?
No, I have never tried any Adams
I got one.. pretty amazing..
Great!
How would you compare the bach commercial to the V Raptor?

Is it better than the strad
For non classical? YES!
I like how you hand demo'd the finish and horn . Those demo gals on TV have nothing on you . Curt . then again .....
The high notes have really gone to my head; I'm thinking I'm Karen from the Price is Right back in the late 70's! hehehe😂
