Excellent video comparing the two. Today I bought the Illicit Green primarily because I wanted something I can wear casually. The other Opiums I love however for work they are not really appropriate unless I’m going out. On me the Illicit Green is lighter and easier to wear so I got it as my very first Opium. I say all this as a guy who is not scared to wear Opium.
I have been looking forward to this one because of the fig note (it's one of my favorite notes). It's unfortunate that they're so similar and that it's not very figgy! Thank you for your honest review!
Bought this as a gift for my girlfriend. She likes the original and seems to like this one too, has been wearing it all the time. I can’t tell much difference personally but it smells nice. So, for any lads out there thinking of getting this as a gift it should go down well 👍
Great review. There’s so many flankers. I’m ready for a brand new YSL perfume, but maybe they will come out with a eau fraiche version of black opium next haha
The original one I love. I wear it in the fall and my fall jackets still smell like it a year later I enjoy putting my fall coat on and getting a wiff of black opium.
I recently blind bought the Extreme version and love it but to be honest I've already used half the bottle bc it doesn't last on me. But I think it's just me, most perfumes disappear quickly on my skin so I've learned to overspray and spray on clothing.
I am third generation YSL from my grandmother loving Yves Saint Laurent , Paris perfume then my mother becoming a YSL avid user , & now me . I like almost all of the YSL fragrances . Love your videos . This is one of my favorite bottles . This one sounds interesting . The new extreme version is awesome !

Ok, I bought the Extreme Version because it was a bit different to the original and I like it. I hoped that the new green one was a bit more different 😅 always, thank you for your comparison 🥰 hugs!

Umm🤔, not tried this yet, however it doesn't seem worth buying, especially since I have quite a few of the flankers, was looking forward to a more green perfume. Keeping a look out for something new and different this year. Always trust soki for best new releases.. not wasting money on something I already have, or anything generic and similar. When you have so many perfumes I suppose any new purchase gotta be really worth the buy.
I was able to find a "reputable" seller on eBay and got an unused tester bottle for $60 USD. Looks like the prices have gone up a lot in the past six months, but that or a direct personal sale (Mercari, Poshmark, whatever you'd be comfortable using) could be worth checking into. Good luck in your search!
I’m happy you did this review because when I heard fig and coffee I was thinking… that doesn’t sound too good. But I’m happy to hear it isn’t a green fig bomb. I do have and love the bvlgari Mary katrantzou Omnia, but I like it because it doesn’t have coffee it’s just a beautiful fresh scent to me. I may try the illicit green.

Honestly I just got my 10 ml one from Sephora I tried and tried to smell the fig leave or any different from the original I couldn’t!!! The smell the same to me!
Perhaps it's the difference of skin scent, but illicit green is different enough to me than the original. When it's on my skin, it smells very fruity. On my skin, the original smells far more "spicy". It's wild, I know, but I don't like the original lol. I am in LOVE with illicit.
I tested it in store and the fig seemed very prominent…. I just had to have it..But now that I’ve purchased an entire bottle it really smells so much like the original that I’m tempted to return it
I truly do not like the original, really dislike pink pepper, but I love my sample of illicit green! I find it completely different, lighter and more everyday friendly.
With that note breakdown it looks like the fragrance would end up being unisex even though it looks like it's being marketed for women just by the note breakdown on the fragrance it makes me want to buy for myself 😁

Same here! Perfume fades on my skin SO fast! I have to spray my clothes if I want any kind of longevity.
Girl it doesnt stay long on me too it the extreme problem and i m dissapointed!

Yes, as you said, not so much difference there, only Illicit is a bit more fruity, raw sugary to my nose.
I m using the intense version. Its amazing
To me it seems a bit lighter if that makes sense which to me is a good thing because I live in a warmer climate. It’s very nice.

They actually have a lot but 90% has been discontinued. When I visit Dillard's they have extreme intense and the original and now illicit green.
