I love that prisons have a firefighting program. I lived by a guy who had been incarcerated, and he proudly talked about his training and is a 'Hot Shot' now.
Prisons have wild horse training programs, and its wonderful. Same with dog training programs. My son adopted a Puppy On Parole, and loved that dog.
Programs like this give them a Trade, and it boosts their morale and confidence considerably. It gives them something to look forward to.
Training programs have shown that the recidivism rate goes down.
I believe strongly the firefighters deserve better pay though, because they are literally putting their lives on the line to help others.

Good. All cities should find ways for the carcerated to work. This is the first smart thing I have heard CA do.

Thank Kim Kardashian for acknowledging these incarcerated firefighters helping they never get acknowledged and yes they are serving time for crimes they still are losing their lives and working thru this to show they are changed. ❤

This is a great opportunity for redemption. Isn’t it amazing how as humans we can re-invent ourselves? By God’s grace, he gives us the opportunity to turn from evil to God’s good. Repentance is so rewarding… ✨☺️🙏🏻

Some of them may have been wrongly incarcerated. They do death sentence innocents in this country. I'm not celebrating.
