    I've been playing regularly for 37 years, gigging for about 24 years.
    Your first year progress is exceptionally good. One piece of advice I would like to give you is that you should make a disciplined point to branch off and play other genres.
    Blues, Southern Rock, Classic Rock, ect.
    You do not need to abandon and you should not abandon your passion for metal but it will greatly contribute to your growth, knowledge and skill to venture into other genres of Rock.
    If you seriously take this advice, you will understand in a couple of years how valuable and important the advice was.
    Anyway, great job in your first year !!

    Dude just like me since 2018 on acoustic and 2020 on electric learning acdc, iron maiden, judas priest and black sabbath riffs. In 6 months my fingers got into new level to play the trooper. Every song I was learning it took me three days to get it right and day after day getting used it. My secret to learn riffs that are difficult to play is listening every song over and over while doing air guitars while following the beat. And thats why I am good at playing I've been doing this exercise for years before picking a guitar.

    I don't know how much hours you are putting into practice every day but I doubt that's on year progress because of that downpicking speed in Master of Puppets, and you must have bought a new guitar every 1 or 2 months. I am guitar player too and I can say that so much confidence, will power/courage, muscle memory and coordination doesn't come in just one year.

    • @DiscoDevil
      @DiscoDevil  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All I can say is that this was honestly a year. The reason why my downpicking imrpved quite fast is that it was literally all I did. I couldnt laternate pick very well. Also, it really depends on the pick you use and how warmed up you are.
