  • To celebrate my 200th video and 500 subscribers, I will upload a series of videos from Scotland and north of England as my thanks to the subs.
My first time being on a sleeper and I can't say I slept very well throughout the journey, resulting me not falling asleep until pretty late (1am) and getting up really early (4am)! It was also my first 92 haulage and 92038 hauled the train from London Euston to as far as Edinburgh, where 67010 took over for the rest of the journey to Aberdeen. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance of watching the shunting movements in Edinburgh where the Aberdeen and Fort William portions were split up. The Inverness portion was removed at Carlisle.
This video features 92038 shunting around Euston station as well as departure from London Euston. First clips of Scotland include the Forth Bridge, Tay Bridge, Dundee and finally arrival into Aberdeen. 67010 is then seen shunting the empty sleeper stock into Clayhills sidings, including a wash of the coaches and 67010!

Excellent video. Have you travelled on the Caladonian Sleeper during 'winter' months (late Nov or early Dec) and if so is the journey worthwhile considering most of it will be in darkness? We are planning a journey later this year but want to go when snow is hopefully more likely.

I haven't been on any sleeper in the winter however I would recommend getting the Fort William sleeper since they do not arrive at Fort William until around 10:00 where it will definitely be daylight (usually the sun rises by 08:00) and since it is a more rural and mountainous line I would expect more chance of snow.

TurboFintan Thank you. My current plan is to travel to Rannoch, never been there it just looks really scenic and I believe that is on the Fort William line / part of the CS journey.

Did you have any problems at Euston with the station staff while filming. I am travelling on the service to Fort William in june and wouldn't mind taking a few pictures while at Euston.

Never had any issues when filming at Euston so I imagine you shouldn't have any problems there.
