CRAZY ONBOARD!!! Porsche 911 GT3 RS on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife

- The Porsche 911 991 GT3 RS set another benchmark for road-approved sports cars at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit in Germany: Porsche works race driver Kévin Estre set a lap time in 6:56.4 minutes with the 520-hp GT3 RS. The Frenchman’s lap time was 24 seconds faster than the best time achieved with the previous GT3 RS model. Porsche development driver Lars Kern was sharing driving duties with Estre. Following the 918 Spyder and the 911 GT2 RS, the new GT3 RS is the third production Porsche sports car with a notarised lap time of less than seven minutes on the world’s most demanding race track, known as the ‘Green Hell’. As is customary for record drives, the time was measured around the 20.6-kilometre lap.

Leo Ruan a literal race built flat 6 revving to 9k is just something else. And amazing that no other car without a mod engine can come close. Porsche is King.

There’s probably so much more especially from other exotic car companies like maybe some mclarens for all I know or something, or I know there’s a Maserati that uses the same engine as the Ferrari 458 so that probably also revs to 9k, and idk but I could have sworn that the Ford Escort RS1600 also rev’d high but it’s probably just the rally cars that rev’d to 9k.
So I don’t wanna say that it’s not impressive that it revs to 9k stock cause it still is, and cars that rev that high are getting more and more rare as car companies just switch to turbos to make power. But there’s tons of cars that rev that high stock, I mean if you want you can count the aerial atom as a production car and there’s one that revs to like 10.6k rpms

That’s seriously fast. I can’t drive that fast with a wheel and pedals in GT6. But man, his tires left the road on several occasions. In a $150k car I would not be putting tires in the grass.
My driving instructor alway said smooth is fast... this guy turns that theory upside down :-)
No that was pretty smooth, he was just on the edge of physics on how fast that car could go on the Ring.
@@sevenrats this was a pretty horrible lap compared to what it could’ve been, opposite of smooth, watch other videos and you’ll understand way too quit and off line through half the turns

I hate how people race the gt3 rs in a straight line sometimes against other Porsches. The gt3 rs is the ultimate track car, not drag race car. This video is an excellent example of that. If you want a Porsche to drag race, get a Turbo S.

There were a few times that he almost went off. That right there is about as fast as this car can go around The Ring. I was cringing and I'm sitting here drinking tea. I can't imagine being in that car.
To me it's not the ultimate fast time that counts but the fastest time in any particular car. You can take a Smart Car out there and there is a fastest time for it. Some drivers are better in some cars and not in others.

The climb from 260-285 kph was quite slow on the back straight. If the car had an F1-style DRS wing, could have easily shaved 2-3 seconds off the lap.

275 kph was top speed which equates to 170 mph . I agree very much a surprise must have had lower gearing for this course or something not right.
Someone pls explain this to me on some turns he switched from brake to gas so quickly, are you able to use both feet or do you have to shift your right foot over to the brake really quickly
My time in this circuit is 6.50 using 458 gt2 in Assetto Corsa. That was so far the best I can do. He was driving gt3 rs in real world, so I guess he beat me. :)

If it had a little less drag on the last straight away it would of been 3-4 seconds faster. For example the performate goes over 300kph witch the gt3rs is about 285kph (and slower acceleration) but gt3rs is still my favorite

Very committed lap, probably could’ve gone a jot quicker as it looks like the driver over cooked it at approximately the 2 minute mark and it upset the lines taken through the next couple of turns, entertaining for sure and that engine song!

Watch this back to back wtih the GT2 RS lap, and there's no comparison. I'd be happily a bit slower, since I'd be able to listen to that screaming NA engine for a little longer on each lap. I'd take the regular GT3 over the GT2 as well. Well, if someone really wanted to give me a GT2 I'd take it of course. I don't want to be ungrateful or anything.
Sure. You right!!! It was close to get out the track. That sequence have cost more than 1 second.
Looks messy sometimes yes, but it does not have to be slower. And even if it is, being on youtube it's best to just shut it and praise the comittment the driver and Porsche is putting in these laps. Honestly, it felt like a F1 qualifying lap at times and not entirely safe. I hope no cars were written off and nobody injured to produce this new lap time
