@@PSYKSY_ Semi trucks don't have beeping beacons on them. I know because my dad used to drive trucks for a living. We never had anything like that. This is something that you only hear on some forklifts and vans and whatever vehicles that are implemented as this is not a law for them to have such devices installed. But despite this they should ALL have some sort of warning device with light and sound when backing up regardless of vehicle classification.
I’ve always feared this so much as a driver, but what was this guy doing just standing there and not caring that a semi was behind him? Partly both their faults as a driver you’re suppose to be aware of anyone behind you.
This I can relate to , I was a warehouse maintenance mechanic working on the dock plate Feb 13, 2019 and was crushed, the driver ignored the do not enter sign and the dock manager didn’t keep an eye on me as I told him to 👎🏽
your question doesn't make sense, but to try and answer your question, the dock plate is manually operated and if you ever worked for any business that has this type of service then of course the truck has access why else would it be there!

I worked at UPS for 15 years, we had feeders like this where trailers backed in and we unloaded the trailers. In all my years there, I never saw anyone just standing at a feeder door gazing in, completely unaware of their surroundings. Like I'm sorry that guy probably died, and condolences to his family. But, those trucks all should have reverse alarms that beep when you are backing up. So how that guy didn't hear that is beyond me. Or even still, the guy who clearly ran around to back the truck up, how did he not see that guy standing less than 2 feet behind him? unreal.

So here is what I don’t understand, really need to see more of the video. It looks like you see the driver put a seal on his back door. If that’s true then he should have been leaving and not backing up. If not leaving, then why would the driver back up to the dock when that trailer is equipped with swinging doors. Only trailers with roll up doors can back up to a dock with their door closed. Drivers with swinging doors have to stop and open them before hitting the dock. This trailers doors were both obviously closed and not a roll up back door.

When working in a warehouse or around any heavy equipment you should always be 360 degrees on alert. You can’t trust other people to always be safe. I’ve worked in a warehouse for 13 years and I’m shocked he was just standing in front of the loading dock with his back turned to the trailer. Always make eye contact with people operating equipment and use your horn. Always check before moving equipment.

Shouldn’t the truck doors be opened first before backing up. I know any dock I’ve ever worked truck doors need to be opened first unless it’s a retractable door. Doesn’t seem they were ready for the truck to back up yet. He should’ve definitely been paying attention though. Unfortunately many workers are improperly trained around the world resulting in tragic situations like this.

It happens, youd be surprised at how many people don't pay attention around big rigs, i have people all the time walk behind as I'm backing.. That's why we turn our emergency flashers on n blow our horns couple of times.. It's too let people know we're backing up..

Because you're supposed to back up against the wall, which is a loading dock. Then you put a steel ramp down and use a pallet jack or forklift to unload the truck.

Yeah he's fucked 🙁 that exact scenario you mention happened at a company I worked for. Didn't happen in our yard, it was another city close by. A courier showed up in a pickup truck with a new fuel tank in the back. There was a tractor trailer parked with the tractor not straight to the trailer to and the courier parked next to it in a blind spot due to tractor being on an angle. The courier and someone else were lifting the tank by hand on either side of the pickup truck and the tractor trailer pulled away and crushed the courier between the trailer and the pickup. He was alive for quite some time until they separated the two and he died on the spot.
