  • In this episode, Dr. Tony Nader and Dr. Michael Levin discuss the different aspects of information, communication, intelligence, and awareness of cells. We see that even on the cellular level, the cells not only react individually to inputs and information but also there is a collective behaviour, which is called collective intelligence. Together, Dr. Nader and Dr. Levin explore how collective consciousness presents itself on the cellular level and also in our day-to-day existence.
Dr. Michael Levin is a Distinguished Professor in the Biology department at Tufts and serves as director of the Allen Discovery Center. He holds a PhD in biology from Harvard University. His groundbreaking research on bioelectric signals has important applications for how we understand cancer, regenerative medicine and even aging.

Utterly fascinating - really suggestive of Sheldrake's morphogenetic field. Dr. Nader asks all the truly relevant questions: "Where do the 'goals' originate?" Dr. Levin's cautionary comments about system goals versus component well-being. The most thought-provoking, mind-expanding channel on TH-cam.

yes, an accurate comment regarding Sheldrake's morphogenetic field. In fact. Rupert asked Michael a related question at another recent interview of Michael.

Wow, I learned so much from this talk! It’s amazing that the systems we take for granted, like the way tadpoles become frogs, are actually extremely intelligent systems. So interesting!

Reducing communication to the activity of electric sircuits is an event like regulating neural impulses-that`s logical. But how cells manage ueristically adapt to emergency goals and regain the former sequence of functioning? Thus fondness to order is also inherited capacity either saying in modern scientificterms they`re written in genes of cell genome?! Can we consider these scripts as the basis od life adaption or some sort of creativity behavior in the space of exuberent information?!
Much gratitude for all these mind provoking thoughts and ideas to dr.Nader initiative to eetend the borders of views on communicattion and awareness.

    Amazing!
Highly scientific illustrations with fabulous knowledgeable results and details , but the answer was easy for those unknown questions behind ; that consciousness is always there and everywhere and take care of everything .

This a great talk often Michael Levin doesn’t get the chance to speak his mind in interviews. I’m glad he got to express his more philosophical views of his work

Awesome talk, thank you Tony and Michael! Very illuminating. The only thing that bugs me as a Ukrainian is when you say 'conflict of nations'. I understand that Tony means a sense as broad as possible but in the past with the TM newsletters (~9mo young meditator here), as well as the Sunday talks, it is clear to me that you don't accept what the collective truth of Ukrainians is. To me it seems that you guys are stubbornly trying to look the other way and state that it is the conflict between two rival nations, which is not so - the situation is rather about Ukraine being on this path of healing and becoming, in a way, self-realized independent country, while tackling its historical circumstances embodied, among other reasons, by proximity with Russia, of which I thought that it so accurately portrays what Tony described as cancerous cells that "won't play along"!
Now if we look at it through the victim-abuser lens and crank things up to the level of Universal Truth, from my own experience I know what it is like to have a victim mentality, and I understand that I create my environment, whether I accept (appreciate) elements of it or not, and this thing would logically lead to the model where both sides of the conflict would have to share the responsibility, as well as guilt for all the caused suffering. But I still think its not the case and your vision can be adjusted to reflect reality in a more accurate way.
I really need to engage with Tony on this matter to see if my point of view changes or that or the Organization. I really need to update you guys on this but of course I won't mind if I get updated in the process as well, so let's discuss in depth!
Thank you for your wonderful work and everything you do. Jai Guru Dev!

The choice of your topics, Dear DrNader, is amazing and I need more intelligence to understand the hole conversation and give it an up-to-date comment
I really appreciate that your guest is also a musician
I will certainly continue to listen

My amateur theme I'm working with is that the grass family is unsuitable for humans to consume, and my question here is about cytosol and ion channels and whether cytosol has this added viscous semi-fluid "stickiness"from the indigestible part that builds up over time, and does this affect the signal, insulate it or muffle it, or even enable it more? Perhaps when the shift to the savanna happened this "sped up signal" triggered increased intelligence as problem solving, but this inventiveness and the urge to make it easier increased the consumption and lessened the exercise that countered the sticky stuff. One jaw of the trap would be consuming too much of the grass family, the other is the labor saving devices. Civilization collapse and loss of the knowledge base, over and over. But now, if this is true then we can keep the knowledge pool (while realizing it more fully) and alleviate the problem. The cultural bias is a little fierce though! Thanks for the video.

Watching this video, I got the uncanny but real sense that I have just met the alien intelligents--they are within us, and they are US.

How do fundamental mathematical principles such as digital root and vortex math play into these computational morphological relationships? They are of course related to the structure of DNA and the propagation of light and sound and therefor in-formation? Thank you.

@@markpekker1308 Best to just look up the terms. Mark Rodin's work is seminal. These principles are commonly taught in traditional Indian and Chinese mathematics. Worth a look.

Ok we can observe and act in some patterns of the sutle field of life. The morphospace is an expression of the harmonic field behind the coemergence of all its processes and levels of divine inteligence...there is one level of the subtle body that we call chakras... is an harmonic order that can appear in the space of the planet and activate water in that coemergence, and there is a deapper level of perfect integration, emptiness, and non duality, that we call by all the God words... the creator process that is our nature and we will never know it by pointing or acting in it but by being more it's expression, living more in the freedom of creation possibilities, this is the eternity of soul... so this divine creation that emanate from the chakas with the model of the soul, passing by all previus forms of life, as a universal resolution of that history, moves as the inteligence recreated in the mind of the water, that expresses morphos and all that life is... so it is that inteligence, pure resolution as in music that is going tho be in the membrane brain, expressing electricaly the ritual of their attunement that keeps the creativ of life and the mind of the cell, that is going to be the mind of us with all metaphor that we make of the outside reality... so we are living and solving the conditions and their history, being born in the consciouness of that solving that is the opening to the expression of the other levels of our nature... so if we understand that is this help that we are giving in the approach tho the "bioeletricity", we cannot treat life as a sac of cells... imagine the monk approaching the subtel body meditation without solving the gross mind, and toutching the dangers of Genesis... to touch the subtle implies all the interdependencies, an there is the danger of being blocked in the oposite... it is the perfect attunement to our nature that opens the true soft ware of biological mind in the I methapor... to have consciouness is allways the opening of "us" by the wisdom of biology...the biological insight, to see the sacred in life and in all, to realise life in its true deepest... with that approach we can relate to the subtle and act creatively in the superficial levels, touching them with wisdom and really from the top down... helping to complete the divine expression... so lets talk about... the chanel of life, heart beet of the water in the cell... the membrane meditation, the universal compassion process that is happening in this receiving the other and being the answer that integrates it in the subtle resolution... about all the levels of the of biological meditation and our existence as completing it, in the paths of divine order... see: WWW.insightbiologico.com

Tell me where the boundary is where you see intelligence and awareness. Is the boundary gradual or a quantum step? Do you understand what turns inanimate into animate? Do you understand the process of becoming sentient well enough to write computer code to simulate it? Can you modify that boundary to make better life? I didn't think so.
Is life the glove of physiology like you think or is there a hand inside the glove that is beyond physiology?

The enemy of our understanding of consciousness is language linearism. It doesn’t matter if it’s the spoken language or the language of mathematics. Linearism is the start of our understanding of the cultural or physical worlds but multidimensionalism should be the next step. Lines on paper or other devices, real or imaginative has limited human potential more than any single thing.
