Russia are not a democracy, carried out ethnic cleansing in chechnya and invaded ukraine without provocation. Israel was attacked by a independent state whose main purpose is the systematic murder of every jewish person, in actual fact the holocaust was not adolph Hitlers idea, it was a blonde haired blue eyed Palastinian named Amin Al husseini who in 1895 formed what that became islamic jihad with the intention to eradicate all jews. Palastinians are not revolting against Hamas, making them complicit in the atrocities.
Eurovision is highly political and operates on double standards. If Russia was barred from participating due to their unjust war against Ukraine, why was Israel allowed to participate as an honored guest despite similar controversies?
You don’t know me to make assumptions, but my Major was International Relations in college and I saw what happened during Eurovision and have a right to comment
There’s also the conflict and previous war (which was as recently as 2023) between Armenia and Azerbaijan, both of which are in Eurovision, just like Russia and Ukraine, while not as bad, it’s definitely hypocritical, especially since thousands of Armenians were left homeless, and many slain, not to mention that the border crisis is also still ongoing, it’s by no means as big as the Russia conflict, but it just proves that Eurovision is no stranger to hypocrisy… I’m no expert in this subject, I’d like to mention, but I can still see that there’s something wrong with how Eurovision treats some participants… Then there is also the fact that Israel is a huge supplier to one of the biggest sponsors in Eurovision, that being Morrocanoil… which might be why they got to stay in the competition…

That's a good question, really. All I know is that Israel is a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) which puts on the Eurovision Song Contest. Australia also is a participant and they're not "Europe", either.
Israel in general participates in European regional organizations rather than ones that belong to its geographic region. This is true with sports as well. Israel implements discriminatory planning policies and land confiscation in order to effectively bar Palestinian from living there, the Israeli state directly controls 93% of the land in the country, including occupied East-Jeruzalem. The ILA manages and allocates these lands, half of its members belong to the JNF whose explicite mandate is to develop and lease land for Jews and not any other segment of the population. The Israeli government restricts the movement of Palestinians, while they make up 21% of the population, in 2017 less than 3 percent of all land in Israel falls under the jurisdiction of Palestinian municipalities. Since 1948, the government has authorized the creation of more than 900 “Jewish localities” in Israel, but none for Palestinians except for a handful of government-planned townships and villages in the Negev and Galilee, created largely to concentrate previously dispersed Bedouin communities. The authorities have zoned large sections of Palestinian towns and villages for “agricultural” use or as “green” areas, prohibited residential building in them, and built road and other infrastructure projects that impede expansion. A 2003 Israeli government-commissioned report found that “many Arab towns and villages were surrounded by land designated for purposes such as security zones, Jewish regional councils, national parks and nature reserves or highways, which prevent or impede the possibility of their expansion in the future.” That's what you call democracy mate? That's the purest form of Apartheid and anti-Western norms and values. Israeli law permits towns in the Negev and Galilee (which comprise two-thirds of the land in Israel) with up to 400 households to maintain admissions committees that can reject applicants from living there for being “not suitable for the social life of the community” or for incompatibility with the “social-cultural fabric.” This authority effectively permits the exclusion of Palestinians from small Jewish towns. Human Rights Watch documented in 2008 discriminatory Israeli policies and practices that left tens of thousands of Palestinian Bedouins in southern Israel living in “unrecognized” informal settlements, where their homes face the constant threat of demolition, and in 2010, discriminatory planning in a Palestinian village near Tel Aviv. International human rights law prohibits racial and ethnic discrimination, condemns “racial segregation,” and safeguards the right to adequate housing. The International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESR), which Israel has ratified, requires states to ensure that policies and legislation progressively realize the right to adequate housing for all segments of society. The body tasked with interpreting the covenant has said that “enjoyment of this right must … not be subject to any form of discrimination” and that “increasing access to land by landless or impoverished segments of the society should constitute a central policy.” and more laws and policies which are based on Apartheid.

Eurovision is highly political and operates on double standards. If Russia was barred from participating due to their unjust war against Ukraine, why was Israel allowed to participate as an honored guest despite similar controversies?
Doesn't seem you know enough about geopolitics, international law, history and war strategy to comment.
You don’t know me to make assumptions, but my Major was International Relations in college and I saw what happened during Eurovision and have a right to comment
There’s also the conflict and previous war (which was as recently as 2023) between Armenia and Azerbaijan, both of which are in Eurovision, just like Russia and Ukraine, while not as bad, it’s definitely hypocritical, especially since thousands of Armenians were left homeless, and many slain, not to mention that the border crisis is also still ongoing, it’s by no means as big as the Russia conflict, but it just proves that Eurovision is no stranger to hypocrisy…
I’m no expert in this subject, I’d like to mention, but I can still see that there’s something wrong with how Eurovision treats some participants…
Then there is also the fact that Israel is a huge supplier to one of the biggest sponsors in Eurovision, that being Morrocanoil… which might be why they got to stay in the competition…

- Israel is racist against their own people - if you’re not an Ashkenazi - they treat you like less. You’re stripped away from your roots like not being able to speak your country’s language or reproductive rights like Ethiopian Jews were treated
- the apartheid law treats Palestinian less. Like the West Bank - where Hamas doesn’t even exists - illegal settlements continue to happen. Palestinians are robbed from their homes and nothing happens to the Israelis that do the robbery. If a Palestine dares to fight back and defend their home - they can get murdered and nothing happens to those murderers

@@jemangetrop7037In my opinion it‘s a form of extreme bullying against Eden Golan. It‘s ok to be against Israel‘s participation, but it‘s not ok to bully a young artist so much that she almost has a mental breakdown backstage. Joost didn‘t have the right to do this. I‘m happy that he got disqualified. This was reason enough, no matter what has happened between him and the camera woman.
@@Irol897 he said 2 words. That's not bullying. The only reason you hate on him is because you're annoyed that he didn't suck you off like all of the organisors did. If israeli companies didn't fund the entirety of eurovision, perhaps israel would've been banned. In any case Joost literally did not do or say anything bad. There's no reason to hate on him like this
Joost is Peso Pluma in its European version.
And where is he now?
He was sent to the gulag archipelago
In our hearts baby
And after that, the main sponsor of Eurovision, Moroccan Oil owned by Israel, wanted Joost to go. Politics! 😑

His disqualification had nothing to do with Israel.
Why wasn't the Irish monster banned?

It is a relevant question. I wanted to hear an answer too. She IS representing her country and there was certainly a risk of terrorism. So I think : let her answer ! He didn't interrupt her, or dicussed her answer. He just doens't like censure
You do realise how rude this question is tho right? “You’re putting us in risk of terrorism”? It’s not her fault people hate Israelis and Jews. And it’s a thing that’s been known for hundreds of years. If anything, she shouldn’t be blamed for people being so hateful to the point they’ll try and hurt other people.
@@Jagiyoborahaeit’s not rude. It’s a fact and you can’t just run away from it, and Joost did well
@@Jagiyoborahae Even if what you say would be true she could have answered herself the question was rude. I still think protection was needed because of this participation. Let her speak for herself she seems smart enough. And she did well. Does she have a trauma now?
@@inge-nellahuijssoon4075 well yes. She could’ve easily gotten disqualified if she said something even a LITTLE politic. Which of course such question is very prone to be answered politically… I still think it shouldn’t have been asked. Same thing could’ve went to the Ukrainian participants if I had to ask such a question, which is an absolutely ridiculous question to ask a person in the first place. Especially a 20 year old, that’s a young adult… thankfully she answered it so well.
Who makes the terrorism ☪️?
Eden Golan was too polite all those days with that rude people. You don´t need to like Israel or her, but AT LEAST respect her. She is working as singer like them. I admire her strength, i would have said rude things after all that pressure and nasty behaviour.
Nah, no respectful singer is throwing concerts having fun when her people are dying and killing

She didn’t have to answer because the journalist shouldn’t have asked this question- according to the EBU rules.
But it was not her coach who told her she didn't have to answer, it was the Swedish host who said that.

Why no one is speaking abouy Azerbaijan, which is killed many Armenians from 2020
Why you still ignore the fact that Armenia ethnically cleansed Azerbaijanis in 90s?
They fought against a country that occupied their lands in 1990 when Azerbaijan was weak. They just took their internationally recognized land back, and they fought against an army, not civilians. We are talking about more than 20,000 civilians whom Israel killed. How many civilians died in the Armenia-Azerbaijan war? They are incomparable.

I have known Joost since 2014 on youtube and never was he the type to lash out or get angry. Fact that the EBU is not consistent with its story is more proof that this is all just an attempt to make Israel win the eurovision just like how ukraine won it in 2022

No hate but the point doesn’t really stand when the interviewer is asking Eden to take responsibility for other people’s want to harm her
Imagine people blaming a 20 year old girl in a singing competition for the casualties of war (that even hamas doesn't know the real numbers since they don't care to go help their people get the bodies out of rubles after the war they started knowing that israel will enter Gaza after it)
So, gaza did start it then??
yes, do you have another information?
Imagine watching everything going on in Gaza and still blame Hamas when even hostages are criticizing Netanyahu. This started long before Hamas was even an organization. The fact that the Westbank also sees their eviction rates and settler violence go up says enough about you land grabbin thieves. Daddy USA won't be able to protect you all the time.
@@be_pacific you mean a terrorist group that murdered mostly civilians in their homes from babies to holocaust survivors, kidnapped children, raped and beheaded, filmed it all put it on the internet for everyone to watch, uses their own people in every conflict, throws lgbtq+ people from a roof, steals humanitarian aid to sell it for much higher price to its own people, that the leaders of this group don't even live in Gaza and steal all the money from donations. You mean to tell me that this group will NOT lie about the amount of dead people if it means that they will get more support and money from people in the west. Where was this support for young Russian athletes when they were banned in sporting competitions? For the user below: Israel is the most protected nation in UN history. They receive an annual 3 billion dollar in aid from the US, have one of the best intelligence agency and defense system in the world. They are supported by the major nations of this world and the size of their country says absolutely nothing about their influence in the region or strength. "It's people taken hostage" why don't you mention the countless of UN reports which show how many Palestinian children and women are arrested, abused, beaten, tortured and killed under Israeli custody and in their prisons. Throughout the years, Israel have consistently held hostages in their prisons whilst evicting people though their own courts to make way for European settlers. "Invading" maybe check out: Breaking the Silence. An organization partially interviewed by Abby Martin and even Israeli NGO's which hosts ex-idf members who tell their story.
