2023: Still one of the best songs from one of the best soundtracks, from a game that surprisingly stands the test if time. Still entertaining and enjoyable to play. Thanks for posting this track..., helps me focus when I have to study.
i played this game 10 years ago, after that time I finally understand that it was more than making bridges and towers out of goo. this is something more in my mind. im glad that i played that game, but also im sad, because i was deaf on that sounds. strange...
Yeah I played it when I was maybe 15 yo was just focused on passing each level instead of understanding what the story was about even didnt get goosebumps when I listened to these musics at that time now am getting goosebumps everytime
“The end of everything”. That’s what I hear when I listen to this. A thing of beauty, yet a thing of destruction. One that can bring those together, and one that can destroy each other, a simulation of what’s possible to come, a World of Goo.
this game was my everything as a kid. the first game i ever finished. i played it too many times to count. i decided to revisit it again after all these years, realizing that the darkness of the themes and music in this game were so fundamental to who i am as a person. this song invokes a strong emotion in me for so many reasons. it’s the theme of a hopeless condition. “you can’t stop progress” after all.
The melody always reminded me of Sign of Evil/E1M8 - the first boss level of 1993 Doom where it turns out you'll have to travel through Hell instead of going home.
If fact I'll honest, the part where it gets loud, I feel a weird feeling, like some touches me from the inside, Like something touched my very soul, very unsettling music indeed..
I just can think about me, sitting near the end of the top of a building, looking at my own world losing its beauty, sawing how the people here just keeps ruining it, and me being guilty too.
Feels fitting. The folly of man is what destroyed that place. And in this game, mankind is driving the goo to extinction with their own greed. So... good choice.
Such a cheery happy game, then this song starts playing and you get an acute case of PTSD (no but in all seriousness this song is amazing, both calming yet haunting and gives a sense of dread or uneasiness, really well done).
This is the song of a quiet death. It is a destruction of beauty so complete and so large that not one individual soul can fix it, only postpone the inevitable for another day. Nobody is innocent in this murder. Nobody is free from the sin. The gods died for nothing. But there is hope; a small near insignificant ember that remains, but the only thing we have to fuel the flame is ourselves. Will we make the sacrifice? Will we cull our brothers and sisters so we can see the sun rise with no fear, or will we perish like dogs?
Aaahh, blessing for my ears... My memories... At the time when I was 8 - 9, this was the only game I played, but only now I understand how strong this game is...
This specifically shows off why WOG is NOT A CUTE GAME: 1. The Corporation is using literal black goo to make beauty products. 2. The landscapes past world 2 start to become barren and decayed, consumed by the goo the corporation is using to keep up the business. 3. In world 3, we literally burn a man's eyes alive, that's gruesome 4. At the end of world 3, we curse millions of humans into automation and digitalization using something that transforms everything into a living computer. 5. The "Beauty" image is what lures the people into their plan. Just a small amount of cream that makes your skin cleaner. This game literally has one of the most obscure backstories ever.
I still have the game, but it no longer wants to launch, I think last time my phone got updated, it killed the app, so when I launch it, it will keep stopping, I think Phones are too advanced for this kind of games..
Reminds me of Doom's E1M8 ... happy goo balls, from hell!

DOOM Eternal's version of that track (Sentinel Prime ambience) sounds even more like this. When I heard that song I knew somewhere I heard it before... then I found this video.
I can imagine the worst places on the world, together, in one neighborhood of the biggest city of the world, where the rights are only for the rich people, where the middle class is inexistent and basically the best things are for the ones who can pay for it... That's what i imagine listening to this song...

Yoo, you said exactly like it is, and while I'm reading it, music from wog plays. So atmospheric, God.

So many years, and yet we find ourselves back here, listening.
Do NOT mess with this game’s soundtrack. It’s too strong
Indeed, my friend.
A truer statement has never been spoken
honestly still love it to this day
Yes! It kills, specially headphone lovers

You can control it maybe
*The memories, flows in you*
It sure does..
Wow, sends chills down my spine... absolutely loving it, thanks!
You will understand the true meaning of the song, once you learn the true story of minecraft. And trust me, it's dark.

Honestly, I think blustery day is one of the hardest levels in the game.

That's because the game is trying to tell a story - a story that is all too familiar yet actively ignored.
This song plays when you visit the factory
Then play it at top volume. That's what I'd do.
