“I want you to be nice, until it’s time not to be nice.” Classic Swayze from the underrated Roadhouse from 80’s Uber producer Joel Silver. Unfortunately this was not a hit on its original release as the female demographic turned out for this movie rather than the male audiences it was targeted too. It has in the years since attained cult status but is not held in the same league as other Swayze Classics Ghost and Point Break which followed this movie.
Also it came out in 1989 when it came out opposite fellow Silver produced juggernaut Lethal Weapon 2 which pretty much stole its thunder. Plus I believe 1989 was the year they had a record breaking number of sequels from the aforementioned Lethal Weapon 2 to Back to the Future 2, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation to Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. This last one “Last Crusade “ was internationally the highest grossing movie of 1989.
