Charles got demolished ngl, his guard was terrible and had so many options to get a submission but was too focused on defending, his striking got outclassed by Islam and to do what he did at the end and basically give Islam the win is just a show of how he let the fear of khabibs family destroy him

When the rematch happens it will be quicker. Makachev’s high kick has no tell. His grappling is 10 times better than Olivera or anybody. It’s incredible to see the passing guard transitions looking so easy. It’s a lifetime of wrestling and combat Sambo fighting. Islam is scary because he’s getting finishes standing up. Volkanovski has the best chin and he got slept. Of course Islam is 2 weight classes ahead of Volks.
1 weight class above Volk, he fights in lightweight not welterweight

Charles got him in rematch for sure...islam passed his guard once after dropping him other than that he couldn't do anything with charles on the ground as soon as he tried and gave alittle space he almost got subbed 3 times lol also in the clinch against the cage and not against the cage charles was able to leverage and postion islam enabling him to land more damaging shots with knees and elbows and islam felt this that's why he disengaged from the cage as he couldn't take charles down the second time

Charles is an absolute beast and dominated the division, but there was a trend to his wins over Chandler, Poirier, and Justin- he applied constant pressure on the feet and was willing to get hurt to do damage. And he did do damage and finished all 3 guys (incredibly impressive, almost identical to Khabib’s title defenses albeit closer fights) but he also got hurt multiple times in all 3 fights. Against Justin he was willingly going to his back and giving up “knockdowns” after getting rocked because he knew his opponent wouldn’t risk getting submitted by coming down to finish him, giving him time to recover. Islam did just that: he out struck and then dropped him and then went straight into his guard and finished the fight. It was an extremely dominant display and I don’t really see it going differently in another fight. Islam’s grappling fundamentals are too sound to where him getting submitted would be a complete anomaly as compared to guys like Dustin who is a bjj blackbelt and Justin a d1 wrestler who were completely helpless against Oliviera on the ground. I think the original comment is a bit much since Charles did have moments in the first fight so anything could happen, but he’ll rightfully be a hefty underdog in a rematch.

Arman and Usman Nurmagomedov are the biggest challenges for Islam. Fighters like Dustin maxed out on luck points though. I'm 100% sure Khabib knew this and drilled Islam about this. If Dustin gets it done with anything other than a lucky punch, I will be very surprised. If Islam KO's Dustin I will also be very surprised. Overall, I'm not mad at either of them winning. Regardless, there should be a rematch.

This fight makes Armans performance way more impressive! He dominated Olivera on the ground like nobody ever has. This also makes islams striking look amazing. Islam doesn’t get the credit for his striking. He knocked out Volk and basically knocked out Charles too. He choked him out but he could have KO’d him if he wanted

What was Charles thinking going for the "flying knee"?? He wasn't close enough to land the left or right knee and it wasn't really a "flying knee" he kinda just jumped up and down. Whats crazy is Islam knocked down Charles with a right hook but Islam's fist was sideways when it landed.
