Thank you for showing a bit of Merzouga outside of the desert. When I went, I thought the town was beautiful but we stayed there like 10 seconds and immediately hoped off onto the camels and into the desert and I wished I could have seen more. I've searched through tens of videos and nobody shows the town, you were the only ones.

Hi there, where did you book the dessert tour in merzouga and where did you stay the one night before? Going on a roadtrip trough marocco in feb! Looved watching your video!
We booked it online beforehand and the place before was in Merzouga town called the little prince. Sorry this is too late though, hope you had an amazing trip!
Amazing video guys! love your vibe - Did you see ait benhaddou, dades and todgha gorge all in one day? im currently planning a surprise Morocco roadtrip for my partner and wondering how much we can see/distance we can drive on our way to Merzouga
We stayed at KamKam which was amazing, but definitely more a luxury option. Highly recommend doing it yourself though as you have so much more time to explore!
My family and I are visiting Morocco later this year. Your video was very helpful and looking forward to the trip even more. Did you find places moreso took cash or credit card more often?
Hey guys :) thank you for the video. So helpful and inspirational. A question, which website did you rent your car from? And, did you guys buy any health insurance and did any vaccines for traveling there? Thanks :)
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it useful :) We rented our car from Avis, which we don't really recommend as it was very unorganised with the pick up and drop off. We didn't need any extra travel vaccines but we already several from our trips elsewhere so could be worth looking in to :)
Is there a way to report the cops over there to higher? Because wow, 30 seconds down the road is wild. Imagine how much money he makes per each stop so close to the airport.
You can say you refuse and you want to go to the station, but supposedly it takes so much persistence and waste too many hours when you could be enjoying your day! Depends how much time you have!
On the day from Fes>Chefchaoen>Tangier, what did you do with your luggage while you walked around Chefchaoen? I am doing Morocco solo in a couple of weeks and am tossing up whether to do CMT or door to door transfer. My wheelie bag is the only challenge, I did read online somewhere that the bus depot will store it if you have an ongoing ticket, but not sure if this is correct now
We stayed two nights in Chefchouen so we left the luggage in the room, so can't help you with that but yeah the bus station was fairly large and i'm sure they'll have a luggage room. Hope you have an amazing trip!
Hey awesome journey. Heading there in a few days for 3 weeks. Usually ise public transport but tempted by car hire too Can you tell me which company you used and is car return at different location much hassle? Cheers May
I wish the day when united Kingdom and ireland and Morocco found a joint maritime company as we have similar maritime needs especially for tourists.... the only problem is the serious price tag .... so it should be joint public company
What a great and informative video! Did you have any issues with being blonde and female? I heard a few years ago that this could attract unwanted attention..
Hey Beth and Jake, Loved your video. We are heading to Morocco in October! Usually we have everything prebooked but this time we are planning to have a bit more of a flexible approach. Did you book your trip as you went or did you have things prebooked? Our first priority is to ensure we do a desert camp for 2 nights. Did you book this when you got to Merzouga or did you prebook it? Can you give me a recommendation on who to use for the desert camp?
We had our desert stay pre booked as that was what we were most excited for on our trip there. Then we pre booked our places in Marrakech and Fes but the rest of them booked one or two days before hand. I imagine October will be fairly quiet. For the Desert Camp it depends on your budget, we were lucky enough to do an instagram collab at Kam Kam which one of many "luxury desert camps" are those are probably better arranged ahead of time. But the backpacker style ones you can just hop on a tour from Marrakech and they arrange all the stops and desert camps. Hope you have an incredible time!
You bear the price-gouging treatment well. I started with the luxury stay videos and then worked my way down to what I could really afford, and my experience will likely be similar to yours. I appreciate the unfiltered perspective. It is disappointing, isn't it? The culture and history are rich. The kingdom was a haven for Jews fleeing persecution, and I had a high opinion of the country. I guess you can't escape the merchants, vendors, and policemen trying to fleece tourists wherever you go.
One of the things most important to remember when travelling in Morocco, or for that matter any Islamic country, is to be aware of local sensibilities about dress. Your long, backless dresses were lovely and your wore them well, but they really would be quite offensive to many. Number one rule in Morocco: cover arms and chest, and head too in some places- Your choice of sundresses really is asking for trouble.
That’s why those dresses were only worn in the middle of nowhere when people weren’t around :) You can see from the video that we covered up more in populated areas

I’ve spent more than a year in Morocco over the years. I first came 30 years ago but was there just before the pandemic. I would say that as a woman you may not feel comfortable alone depending on how well travelled you are and if you have spent time in Muslim countries previously. Morocco used to be a very tough place to travel when I first came. Lot’s of shady characters, petty theft and hassle. It’s definitely gotten better over the years partially due to “tourist police” which is a special branch. They are brutal to the local thieves which I don’t condone however, it has curbed what was a tourist business threatening level of theft and harassment. Last time in Moroc I was with my fiancé and we had very little hassle. Having said that I noticed when she was far enough away from me that people (men) thought she might be alone she was approached. Also, shop owners were much more aggressive with trying to sell her things if I was not around. I think that is due to the fact that I am very accustomed to their tactics and can quickly , firmly, politely extricate myself from the situation. If you hare not used to the way they bargain in these countries it can be exhausting. I can’t speak to safety of a woman traveling alone. I personally would not recommend it if you are under 40. I think older women don’t get as much attention, for obvious reasons. No offense intended. If I was a woman I’d probably feel more comfortable traveling in Moroc with company. Best of luck. Oh, Tangiers has always been famous for hassle as it’s a gateway city. Essouira is probably the most relaxed and safest feeling city . Marrakech is not the city it once was despite all you see in these vids. I wouldn’t spend much time there.
