    The other day I had a match at the local high schools tournament and the other players didn't have any option but to select me as a goalkeeper. I accepted even though I hadn't played football for years, so I was scared of disappointing them. I searched how to goalkeep on youtube and you came up so I watched most of your videos in 2 weeks period before the match, I practiced alone my technics and in the match day we played against the favors of the tournament. We were sure we would lose 10-0 but in the end we managed to lose just 2-0. Both goals were conceded in corners, but overall I did carry my team as I managed to make some incredible saves. Even after the match, for days, all my teammates, students and teachers praised my goalkeeping at the game so I am so glad I found you and I want to thank you!

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow, what an incredible story! 👏 It's amazing how you stepped up and delivered under pressure, especially after such a short time preparing. The fact that you turned what could’ve been a heavy loss into a game where your goalkeeping shone says so much about your hard work and determination. Those saves must have been epic!
      I’m so glad my videos could help you on your journey. Keep pushing yourself - you clearly have the mindset and ability to improve even more. Thank you for sharing your experience, and good luck in your future matches - you’re already inspiring others! 🧤🔥

    I got a hip strain injury in my first day at a new club

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry to hear about your injury - it’s tough, especially on your first day at a new club. Rest and recovery are key now. Follow any advice from your doctor or physiotherapist to heal properly, and don’t rush back too soon.
      In the meantime, focus on light exercises (if recommended) and mental prep - watch matches, study goalkeeping techniques, and stay sharp mentally. You’ll be back stronger before you know it! Take it one step at a time, and good luck with your recovery and your new club!

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey buddy. Can you give me a bit more detail on what you mean?
      Do you mean gym work? Do you mean more goalkeeping-specific drills?
      If I were you, I'd work on my fitness, footwork, mobility and core strength. This is something which is often neglected when the season starts.
      Also, if you have access to a wall or small space, solo drills can be super effective to work on your handling and diving.
      I have a whole course on self-training, which you see in the video, but there are a lot of things you can do even without the program.

    How do you protect your "region" while goalkeeping im lowkey dead from nutshots

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  หลายเดือนก่อน

      😂 Nutshots are no joke! The best way to protect yourself is to wear a high-quality athletic cup specifically designed for goalkeepers or athletes - I don't use it myself but sometimes I wish I did :D Beyond that, focus on keeping a strong set position and angling your body to deflect shots with your legs or hands rather than risking your 'region.' Stay safe out there, keeper!

    Is it normal to have knee pain from landing on the side of your knee When high diving Even when wearing pads If so, is the pain supposed to persist later the next day Or when just simply walking

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Knee pain from landing on the side, even with pads, can happen, but it’s not something to ignore. If it’s just a bit sore after a tough session, that’s fairly common, especially if you’re practicing high dives repeatedly or something similar. However, if the pain persists the next day or affects you while walking, it might indicate that your landing technique needs adjustment or that you could be putting too much strain on your knee.
      Try focusing on landing with better form - spreading the impact across your body instead of just one point - and ensuring you’re diving on softer surfaces where possible. If the pain continues or worsens, it’s a good idea to check with a medical professional to avoid long-term issues. Taking care of your body is just as important as the dives you make! 💪🧤

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Of course, I remember you - great to hear from you again! 💪 With your tryouts in February, now’s the perfect time to start building up your rhythm.
      Basics First: Focus on footwork, positioning, and handling. Set up simple drills like catching, quick side-to-side movements, and diving practice if you have space.
      Consistency: Aim for short, daily sessions (30-40 minutes) to rebuild muscle memory. You don’t need long workouts; just make them focused.
      Fitness: Work on core strength and agility with exercises like planks, sprints, and ladder drills.
      You’ve got this - stay consistent, and February will be your time to shine! Let me know how it goes or if you need more tips along the way! 🧤🔥

    Mister how many cm is size 4 5 6?

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there! Goalkeeping glove sizes don’t correspond directly to centimeters in the way you might think, but here’s a general guide for glove sizes:
      Size 4: Fits a hand width of about 6.5-7 cm (ideal for young kids, around 6-8 years old).
      Size 5: Fits a hand width of about 7-7.5 cm (suitable for kids, around 8-10 years old).
      Size 6: Fits a hand width of about 7.5-8 cm (best for older kids or small-handed youth players, around 10-12 years old).
      The exact fit can vary slightly depending on the brand. It’s always best to measure your hand width across the knuckles (not including the thumb) and check the specific size chart of the gloves. Hope this helps! 🧤

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for reaching out and for supporting the channel! First off, I’m really glad the videos have been helping you improve as a goalkeeper. It’s completely normal to feel like quitting or to lose motivation at time - it happens to the best of us.
      Here are a few tips to help you rediscover your passion and keep going:
      Remember Why You Started: Think back to the moment you fell in love with goalkeeping. Was it the thrill of making a big save? The pride of helping your team? Hold on to that feeling and let it fuel you.
      Set Small Goals: Motivation comes from progress. Instead of focusing on the big picture, try setting small, achievable goals for each training session or game. Celebrate every little win.
      Switch Up Your Training: Sometimes we lose motivation because things feel repetitive. Try new drills, challenge yourself with different techniques, or even play with friends in a fun, relaxed environment to reignite your love for the game.
      Take a Break if Needed: It’s okay to step back for a moment to recharge. Sometimes, taking a little break makes you realize how much you miss it.
      Focus on Enjoyment: Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Remember, goalkeeping should be something you enjoy. Play for the love of the game and the amazing memories it brings.
      You’ve already made so much progress, and hitting a rough patch doesn’t erase that. You’re capable of great things, and if you keep pushing, you’ll look back on this moment and realize it was just a stepping stone.
      You’ve got this!

    • @GroundGloryGoalkeeping
      @GroundGloryGoalkeeping  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey buddy... I'm sorry to hear about the loss, but don’t let it get you down too much. Every goalkeeper, no matter how experienced (or good), has tough games. It’s important to remember that mistakes and losses are part of learning and growing as a player. Take some time to reflect on the match - what went well and what you can improve on-and then use that as motivation to get better.
      Focus on the positives: you had the courage to step up and take on one of the toughest roles in football. Shake it off, keep training hard, and go into the next match stronger. You’ve got this! 💪🧤
