    I once had a work trip to South Africa and tacked on a week to kite Cape Town. I dragged all my gear for the entire trip (expensive and total pain). The week I was in Cape Town, I didn’t get one day of wind. The guys at Real said they had never seen anything like that in 15 yrs the shop was open.

      Ouch, that’s brutal. Every amazing kite spot I’ve been I’ve had some flavor of this. The worst was the grenadines in January when the wind is supposed to be “on like a blow dryer”. I had 7 days of mostly kite foiling… and then 2-3 days of anything about 15kts at the end

    I flew from UK to Mauritius, got there, no wind for the 12days i was there. Luckily the hotel had free Wakeboarding, wakeboard as much as you want. Went SUP on a reef and shared some waves with Dolphins, dived the reefs. Shame was really hoping to ride the waves at One Eye Lemorne. It happens

      Brutal, riding one eye would be the dream. Not even enough wind to foil?

      @@erbartlettHey Evan!
      I realized that i had my notifications turned off so I wasn't aware that you had replied! Hmmmm... suggestions for vids, maybe a few geared towards kiters transitioning from lessons to venturing on their own??? That's exactly where I am right now and could probably benefit from pointers from as many other kiters as possible.

      I have a friend that goes every year, but I have never been. When is the right time to visit? What are the spots to check out?

      So cool! I have not had the opportunity to go to india, so I dont know of any schools. I have been to Sri Lanka, and there are a ton of good schools in Kalpitya, and Im assuming there are schools in india along the southwest coast where the Palk Straight is?
      I'd talk to those schools about used gear, they have the best access to gear and they can assess the quality for you. Good luck!

    You never know, always being your full range. I always bring my 4,6,8,10,12,14,16,19, and 21m and my 132,136,140,142,144,148,150,
    Than 6 wetsuits, 8bars, 5 different line sets. Jk, I bring my 3 kites. 2 bars/boards

      @erbartlett  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, but sometimes it feels that way. I’ve definite brought 15m , 12m, 9m, 7m on certain trips with an extra single strut for very light wind foiling.
