I've essentially grown up with this show since as far back as I can remember, and I own the entirety of it on disc because "special interests go brrr" like that. I was just bringing awareness to the fact that they were finally doing something with the franchise again after 16 years of it being virtually dormant since the finale. (No, I do not count the Fairly Odd Phantom Crossover here on TH-cam, nor Danny's addition in video games to fill out character slots). This gave me a cool idea for an arc for this show (shame it’s canceled). Imagine Danny somehow gets stuck in ghost mode, or becomes an actual ghost and runs away in the midst of an existential crisis and when his family finds out they’re forced to accept ghosts as people or otherwise condone experimentation on their son.
THE ANIMATION IS HIGH QUALITY! This really looks so canonical. I can't get over the line-art, timing of the animations, lip syncing, and overall generally improved art style. This makes me wish this was an actual spinoff that existed to a similar concept like this while staying true to the original. Not implying otherwise, but I know everybody will feel differently so I wish to clarify now that I acknowledge that. 💜 One of the best iterations I've ever seen of this animation meme, please be proud!!! ≧w≦
My headcannon for the AU: Danny got teleported to the ghost realm when the machine backfired and was stuck as a ghost for a while and when he made his way out he saw that he was labeled as a missing kid, and decided to stay hidden, since hes stuck in his ghost form post-accident, and Sam knows he's out there, she hasnt given up looking, hence the machine in her hands, because I'd imagine Amnity Park having a superhero defend it would get a lot of press, perhaps even a picture, thats what triggered Sams' search, the ghost kinda looks like Danny.
I love the little detail/callback when the ring flips and shows the name Wes for a second. It just brings me right back to that scene, and Sam’s oblivious little “who the heck is Wes?” when all she had to do was flip the ring over…
I cant stop being amazed that the fandom about half-dead teenager is so alive after so many years, even if the show was canceled. Like, damn, wouldnt it be almost 20 years soon, since the start of the show? And people are still creating all types of new amazing content. Edited: looked into the description and daaamn, 19 years! I wasnt there, when show was ongoing, but I watched all 3 seasons in one go around 2014, I think? And I am not thinking of quiting this fd anytime soon.
Just by watching, this Au seems like a reboot but takes place later in Danny's life, it may be the art style but everyone looks a bit older. Taking a guess that he and Sam were dating before the accident. So far it seems that this time, Danny's powers were malfunctioning from the very start. Like the Red eyes don't completely mean evil, can still be an option, but it's just his ghost side forcing him to be a legitimate 100% dead ghost while Green is his human half conflicting to stay in a semi-alive state. Unfortunately, our poor boy keeps glitching. If I'm wrong, no worries, this vid is awesome and that's all that truly matters. Thank you for posting it!

Because I didn't read the opening credits, a few moments after the song started I paused it to Google Danny Phantom to see if it had come back and I missed it. This was shockingly spot on! If I had been shown a clip of this with no explanation I would have gone crazy trying to find more

Imagine if it dawns on Danny that as a half ghost he could potentially outlive his friends because he may never fully die. The essence of his evil self is like the scarab of Blue Beetle from Young Justice trying to amp him up into killing them stating that only vengeful spirits can remain ghosts like him and slowly throughout the new series the inner Danny tries to get EVERYONE to hate him so foolhardly to make them come back as vengeful ghosts so that he won't feel alone as the only ghost closely related in Amity Park. Yet vengeful spirits can come back as monsters and wrestling with the good part of himself begrudgingly knows that he can't fully let that happen and feels like he'd rather live his half life than live any life that involves the ones he loves doomed in an afterlife of anguish and anger

And when I watched the movie Danny Phantom, I perceived Danny as officially dead. And his soul is located between the physical and phantom world, while he himself is not aware of it. Therefore, he can turn into a ghost and back into a physical body. And Danny isn't actually a full-fledged ghost. More like a half-ghost. And you did a great job maintaining the original style. And by the way, in this style you could animate fairy tales, where Timmy has his own happiness, but his child is unhappy, even if he has loving and successful parents than Timmy’s parents. For his child, let’s say, has an inferiority complex, and an exastatic crisis. And at that moment he has a fairy who fulfills his wishes, and not just a fairy, but Poof himself, who has already grown up and works as a fairy assistant. It would be cool if Poof saw Timmy as an adult.

The animation is really cool. Danny himself looks cool. And you know, it could be like a romantic plot from the movie "Ghost". And when I watched the movie Danny Phantom, I perceived Danny as officially dead. And his soul is located between the physical and phantom world, while he himself is not aware of it. Therefore, he can turn into a ghost and back into a physical body. And Danny isn't actually a full-fledged ghost. More like a half-ghost. And you did a great job maintaining the original style. And by the way, in this style you could animate fairy tales, where Timmy has his own happiness, but his child is unhappy, even if he has loving and successful parents than Timmy’s parents. For his child, let’s say, has an inferiority complex, and an exastatic crisis. And at that moment he has a fairy who fulfills his wishes, and not just a fairy, but Poof himself, who has already grown up and works as a fairy assistant. It would be cool if Poof saw Timmy as an adult.
