Holy shit. I turned this on, didn't look at the video. And went to facebook letting it play in the background. Then I came back and found out all of it was live D: It sounded recorded. Thats how good they are
I think that If I had a bit more musical expertise I would drop everything to join the Magnetic Zeros and just live like this. This song in particular is so soothing.
Saw them live in Dublin on Tuesday. Was in the front row in between Jade and Alex. Never have seen a band so interactive with their crowd, I lost count of the amount of time they hopped the barriers to hug and sing with their fans. Don't think I've ever experienced such a happy gig in my life. For the encore Alex sat in the pit with us and sang this song, was amazing! Woke up the next morning wondering if it was all a dream. They're crazy! :)
I love these people, saw them in Amsterdam in July. I'm sure this song draws upon Dylan, 'It's all over now Baby Blue' but more upbeat. All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home ...
Actually its called a Thunder Maker! Its a long spring attached to the "drum" and when you shake it it makes that noise. They can very easily be made from home!
I had no idea they played in Dublin before! That sounds absolutely amazing. I'm seeing them in the Phoenix Park during the summer with Mumford & Sons, expecting it to be the best day of my life!
while watching this, i realized the main instrument being used in the video, was sitting on the table in front of me. My friend has one and it is called a "thunder tube." Not sure where they can be purchased, but will ask my friend if anyone is interested.
I also like Ebert's solo work, like Truth and the rest of the Alexander album. Amazingly intricate work. But in regards to letting it slide: I mean Edward Sharpe.
(I guess) I'm not too bad in English, but could someone please tell this german girl (me) what this song is about (translation)? - would be great to be able to also love the text, not "only" the music/this fantastic song! :)
What does it matter his colour? Jesus was more than a man he represents all that is good in our consciousness and if Alex does that then he looks exactly like jesus.
I love the communal spirit of their music. I sang this song with Alex in Nashville. He even asked me to whistle.
so much love

Yeah it is hard to be tethered to the earth when listening to this one. Excellence !
The way to describe this music is that it's pure euphoria
He sings to the heart!

There's something about Edward Sharpe that makes me simply want To Let Go. Let that which does not matter simply...Slide.
If this doesn't make you feel better about life there's probably nothing that will.
That gig is going to be amazing. Have seen them, Mumford, Ben and The Vaccines live before. You're in for an amazing day! :)
i love the part where he whistles. so great
I really enjoy how sparse the horn player is in his playing. Miles-esque in the blue era to me.
while watching this, i realized the main instrument being used in the video, was sitting on the table in front of me. My friend has one and it is called a "thunder tube." Not sure where they can be purchased, but will ask my friend if anyone is interested.
Muito bom!
I just noticed one of them playing the bodhrán - irish drum instrument, but with their hands instead of a cipín!
i like the sound of the dulled out skateboards rolling around and slappin the concrete.. it sounds like thunder kinda
haha to the kid with the lennon shirt. thats badass bro
Does anybody know what is name of instrument he is "playing"?
What is that wondrous wind-y sounding instrument!?
3:29 That smiling dog.

Watching Lennon in the back just makes it all so...(:
Does anybody else hear a slight rip in the chorus from "Blood Red Sentimental Blues" by Cotton Jones?
Alex...you know you've been here before......enjoy...you are music......
I wish they would leave the camera rolling... to see the awe after that performance
2:55 in the back left, nice tre flip, it looked like.
1:33 - even the dog looks blissed out :)
Yes, Alexander Ebert is the name of the lead singer. Edward Sharpe is the character, the ideal, the representation. I see no need to dichotomize.
Does anyone know what instrument Alex is using? It sounds amazingg.
can someone tell me why this song isn't on iTunes?
somebody nows the tab/cifra?? Edward sharpe songs fucking amazing
it a thunder box - a drum type thingy with a spring attached through the skin
Looks like a Thunder Maker (search for videos to see one)
1:37 john lennon shirt i love this kid, and the band XD
Idk why your comment is marked as spam...I was actually wondering what that instrument was myself!
watch the Big Easy Express movie featuring ESMZ's awesome video
What is the instrument that Alex is playing?
(I guess) I'm not too bad in English, but could someone please tell this german girl (me) what this song is about (translation)? - would be great to be able to also love the text, not "only" the music/this fantastic song! :)
What is the instrument that the singer is holding?
How many people are in this band??

what is this instrument that Alex's playing?
3:40 almost a 360 flip...
he is talking about the band
Looks like a homemade percussion instrument that has some type of microphone in it so when he shakes it, it makes a reverberation.
All my crooked fingers pointing blame
That Lennon shirt! I need it.
hahaha the guy in the background almost fell around 1:10
it's "ALL WASH OUT"
And the John Lennon`s spirit present in Mexico city appreciating from the bottom. 1:30
fuck it!lets just light a joint,i only smoke in public when there is perfomance by edward sharpe
He looks like Jesus.
"Let is all wash out in the wine"
Actually if u read his response to my comment u will find out that he was not talking about the band.
Listen my song and see my paintins, cheers from Venezuela
"Take the skinheads bowling, take them bowling"
I don't blame Edward Sharpe for copying the hook, it's a great one.

I was wondering that myself.

What does it matter his colour? Jesus was more than a man he represents all that is good in our consciousness and if Alex does that then he looks exactly like jesus.
