tough call man, insurance will probably total it depending on the year. higher chance with the economy. becareful with tne insurance, some are refusing buy backs due to body shops buying cars from the owner at the difference between price +$100 or somethin.

DUIs always suck, bc even if it was not the guys fault and he was below the limit, he’s inevitably getting blamed every time.
The carrier had been in business for 6 month , 9/9/22 is went his Motor Carrier number was activated. A bunch of Out of service violations, meaning the driver or truck couldn't be operated till they were fixed.
Out of service could mean a blinker might be out or the chain holding your spare tire in the cage isn't looped. It would certainly mean he had insurance just not the full coverage. That being the case it typical for these haulers. They only haul them so their trailer isn't empty and something pays for the haul. Will this change and inflate the rates according to the cost of the car hauled. We will wait and see. Probably not because shippers/brokers are greedy. My take is people need to stop having big expectations for what isn't attainable for such low cost and providing drivers, haulers, carriers they're fair settlement.
Well, when the carrier shows up and his credentials are marker written on the door glass that should’ve been a red flag right there. Using these cheap ass two car bumper pulls. Hope they had insurance. Should’ve cared at least $250,000 cargo. Hope that truck was on the policy and not just a ghost.
Yeah, 250K cargo is the common policy coverage for those haulers. And correct strapping or not, that car was launching through the trailer regardless, based on the accident description. If the driver truly was DWI, then here comes the litigation. In hindsight, I would've selected a higher caliber of hauler. 6 car with at least1 mil coverage.
This ain't even my Own car, and I'm exactly hurt by the total loss of this particular vehicle. 🤕😕😱😢😭😭👎🏾👎🏾

ngl, ive felt like this for about 2 years. i bought a chevy ss and the push rods were 7.6, aka not spec for the engine in the car, 30k miles of me not knowing this and the engine blew up. then the place i took the car to have fixed, gutted it when all i said was remove engine and tell me the damage. they removed the drive shaft, mufflers, etc. i might have my car back before valentines day, it will be down a full year come april if not.

I see the photo of the trailer doesn't look like there are any straps still attached to the floor. And it didn't look like the ties downs were ripped out. I would look into if it was strapped at all. With it being lowered, it would not surprise me if the guy said screw it and didn't strap it down.
I’ve been in the towing business for 30 years - can’t believe that put that much weight on a trailer ball - 5th wheel is one thing that’s a trailer hitch in those pics- I would beat the dog shit out of that guy- and for not strapping it in

You think you will get a large settlement out of a man who lives in his truck has no home, family or a future. If he had a s corp it would be like trying to stick your balls in a shredder. Drunk driving will be hard to beat but they are like one a million in one day. There's probably more cops that drink and drive then regular citizens.

I’d say the motors good unless someone actually tried starting it. But I’d have looked over the car before trying to start it in the first place. So hopefully it’s still good.
Best and safest way to transport expensive cars Buy a truck and trailer do it yourself.
The only difference is they will crash it themselves. In order for this industry to work everyone needs to be compensated fairly. This one man operator/ carrier leased to another carrier/broker because the one man operator doesn't know how to book and confirm loads from central dispatch and so hence is hauling for nothing. Its one guy scamming the other and its a vicious cycle. Fine if it works then not so like this.
