That was a good twist! I had thought the director seemed too idealistic in his youth and wondered how they would show his change, but this explains it all. Nicely done! It also explains why the director is so lenient towards Pang: Pang is basically his powers and his friend's idealism in one body but for real this time around. He's intrigued by this similarity with his old friend, so he lets Pang get away with stuff, while expecting Pang to become the same as himself eventually.
Very well stated. I’m still kinda in shock learning about this twist but you explained it perfectly.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!! What an insane twist that I never saw coming. This shit was absolutely brilliant and just shows you how far the Director will go to get what he wants. He used his friend for years and made him think he was a different person just to get what he wanted. Then in the end made him kill himself. This show just delivered one hell of a show.

Before that it awarded to Korean Suspense Drama such as Flower of Evil, Mouse, Signal, etc. But know this Thai The Gifted the series break it. Holyshxt. It gave me the plot twist that I had never thought before. In Chinese this called 神剧.
