    Great series, especially the mess ups, which is relatable to probably everyone watching.

    This system rocks and I will own it one day. I'd be tempted to use it multiple times a day. Screw the dishwasher--just head out into the garage and powerwash all the dishes from dinner.

    Hey Matt ive been a pipefitter for DuPont for 16 years and any time Im using threaded stainless fittings I always use teflon tape and a teflon based pipe dope such as Rectorseal or Keytite to prevent the fitting from galling up and leaking. Just my .02 . It looks awesome man. Im really glad you didnt edit out the pain in the ass parts of the trials with hitting the studs etc.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The threads were really coarse on the aluminum pipe and the stainless hose had really clean precision threads. The tape kept getting hung up or clogged. I think dope would have been better here.

    In the other video I suggested you should have mounted on a 2x4’ ply wood mount. I see it might need a 2.5x4’ sheet. Watching this install I wonder how many customers struggle with the pipe fitting with the issues you the seller had. If you instructed buyers to mount on a predetermined plywood mount you could offer the kit as pre-cut to fit that size mount. You could have a plywood fixture set up in your shop and someone build up the install on it. Then take a part in sections so the buyer could easily install on standard plywood they buy. This extra buildup could be charged for. I wonder how many buyers install this themselves or higher it out due to all the pipe work. My 2 cents.

    Matt, you should have Kranzle add a hour meter on the pump so you can track the oil life.

    • @1960fusion
      @1960fusion ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, i have an extra motion hour meter that I'm going to add to my Kranzle that I just received from OG and see if will work. i have one on a high pressure compressor that is used to fill my air rifles and it works great. I think they were designed to be installed on dirt bikes. I do agree with the other comment that 50 hours is a long time though

    FYI buy "BLUE MONSTER" Teflon tape on line. Not expensive but it is way thicker than the white stuff sold in Home Depot & Lowes. You also get more on a roll and it goes much farther, needing way less turns.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't like the thick stuff as much. I find it's more prone to leaking on NPT fittings. I use it on the more coarse threads on the Kobrajet hoses.

    Matt, in this type of installation I’m thinking it would be beneficial to recommend a PVC cladding over the drywall behind the “system” to reduce likely drywall damage from water intrusion. Another option would be to use an epoxy paint in those areas. Just a suggestion, really enjoy the content.

    • @stevennaylor397
      @stevennaylor397 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      KPN this entire series people have mentioned “water on drywall”. If you install this right the only thing that will release water is the end of the hose! For no reason should there be any water that touches the wall unless you have a leak. If you do have a leak your going to turn off the water, clean it up, wipe your PAINTED wall and fix it. The only time water ever ruins drywall is when it sits for long periods of time. Plain and simple.

    I noticed the deioniozer says it's good for 600 gallons is there a prefilter u can plumb in front of the deioniozer to extend its filters life span

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One thing that would make a significant increase in life-span would be to connect to a whole house softener system.

      We should be good with the volumes we are using. Aluminum supposedly has good resistance.

    I am not really a fan of the shelf, it’s the weakest link, it’s just resting on there, could it be screwed together?

    • @jaywest4102
      @jaywest4102 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dlroto I’m sure the weight of the machine holds the shelf down, since it slides down over the supports. Could always add some VHB double sided mounting tape.

    there is a lot of talk of making it "man up" tight, is there not a concern of over tightening and cracking the brass on the hose reel?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NPT threads diminish, so it stops eventually.

    I guess "should have [had] your wife help you" tighten those fittings.😁
    If you're going to an installation job, why didn't you bring the correct tools (open-end wrenches, screwdrivers, socket set, etc.)? 🤔 You're recording this to teach people how to do it. Show them how to do it correctly with the correct tools. Then, if they do it INcorrectly with or without the INcorrect tools then, that's on them. It's THEIR fault at that point.
