Good honest review. The Bullitt is a helmet you can love & can still use in all conditions (touring, wet weather etc) you just have to be realistic about your expectations. Retro look, retro experience. It’s like an open face helmet with a bit of face protection. I had one & I loved it. I had to sell it to get my Ex Zero - same deal.
Thanks for this really help put it in perspective. Wanted this helmet for the retro style but perhaps Ill pass on it as its not in the long run for me.
Bell have made attempts to upgrade the inner liner that we believe is a vast improvement on the original. Aside from this as noted in the video this is mainly around the Bullitt as a whole and how it was developed to how it has become the popular retro lid it is today as well as new colour ways for 2020.- UR
Reasons the Bell Bullitt is a better lid than it's competitors. 1. Fiberglass composite construction (as opposed to polycarbonate) 2. ECE approved as well as DOT approved 3. Versions of the helmet are available with MIPS 4. With regards to Carbon options; some of the most accessibly priced carbon lids on the market 5. Weight even the Fiberglass base models are relatively lightweight when compare to competing lids 6. Adjustable; removable foam in the cheek panels for a more customizable fitment overall 7. Pre-com unit acceptability (speaker pockets...part of what lends the helmet to being a little "loud)
Thanks for the info! I have a 1st gene Bell Bullit, ivory and red, brown interior, bubble visor, great helmet. Almost immaculate after all this time. Bad sealing, that's about allI can say regarding flaws. However, I would have appreciated that you had made more emphasis on the changes introduced in the new generation, if some thing.
The changes that have been made are noted in the video eg the cheek pads, this is not a new generation per say but a review on the helmet and and introduction into the new colours for 2020
Testing one of these helmets on I loved the quality feel and huge view range, but felt like the chin bar was so close to my face that in any accident you'd smash into it straight away. Is this an area where it falls short in its ECE rating or am I concerned about a non-issue? Thanks
They look great but the comments below and previous comments I've heard indicate a strong/loud whistling noise at average speeds. Has this gone? Does the material that is at the forehead position still leave marks on your forehead or is still in anyway uncomfortable? If Bell hasn't fixed these points then the product hasn't really moved forward (a new lick of paint doesn't cut it). Would love to hear a more technical 'owners' review from you all.
As the video notes this is not the quietest or technical of motorcycle helmet's it aimed at the retro inspired rider, this is an update to our original video shot many years ago, they have made updates to the inner cheek pad's which has now rectified the original issues. A cheap set of ear plugs will help with the road noise, but no changes have been made to the material used on the inner. Thanks for the feedback - UR
Yea this helmet sucks love the look tho but the pressure points whistling non closable vents and no anti fog visor is jus way too much too spend 400 dollars on
The original issue with the pressure points on the liner have been rectified in newer model's being a retro inspired helmet you will get a retro experience so naturally will be louder but we have found a cheap pair of ear plugs is a good solution.
NO! This helmet DOES NOT suck! I bought mine last week and had a full day in two days ago. Helmets are a very personal purchase and mine suits my head shape perfectly. Yes it is not sound proof, but up to 70/80 mph it’s fine, with ear plugs, which I would always wear anyhow. It’s not designed an out and out sports-bike helmet. The massive plus is the field of vision. I bought this after giving up an open face helmet for safety reasons and the view is so good, you don’t even notice the chin bar and the peripheral vision is excellent.
Beautiful designs. These have always felt like the metaphorical equivalent to the “torturously” beautiful stiletto heels for women. We love to see them in ‘em, but oh the price they pay. I’m not into the retro bandwagon myself but if I were I’d opt for offerings by AGV and their legend series. Far better with respect to build and comfort.
Do they still have that slightly akward movement of the liner at the forehead? How about the speaker cutouts? The ones on the Bullit I used to have were nowhere near my ears :P Beautiful helmets, but they don't have to be uber technical to be comfortable. Installing a rubber thing around the visor would help the seal a lot without sacrificing looks. A small detachable velcro chin liner would be great to make it a bit warmer and quieter. It's little things like this that they should add. The Bullit from a couple of years ago that I owned had pretty loud whining wind noises at 70km/h and wind tickling my facial hair. Ended up selling it.
Hey Reinis, yes for sure most of us agree that there could be certain benefits of upgrading small aspects of the helmet would be good to see Bell implement a few small key additions. Thanks for the feedback UR
Hi Lee, Sadly there isn't a pinlock to fit a Bullit visor but I do recommend this: www.urbanrider.co.uk/muc-off-premium-anti-fog-treatment-32ml.html . Hope this helps - Iza
I have put a folded tissue in the air vent at the back. Tuck it in from inside the helmet and the whistling stops. At the expense of the vent working though!
You are likely to be a Large, but if you get in touch with our customer service team with your head measurement in inches, they will be able to help you further.
Its only about the look. The look is unbeatable, but thats all. I wear it and give him a chance..but in reality it feels like a open jet helmed. Too loud, too windy. Wind is everywear. No pinlock, no siliconelips, no gadgets to controle aircirculation. So you can get a shoei nxr equate tc 10 fot that money and then you have everything you want. A oldschool looking helmed with hight quality standart and many features.
If they did not address the pressure caused by the snap that hold the inner lining together I will go elsewhere. I have a Bullit collecting dust. After wearing it for more than 20 minutes the snaps start to drill into my head. Noise doesn't bother me much since I wear earplugs but without them this is a fairly loud helmet
@@UrbanRiderlondon hi, my original comment was referring to the helmet mentioned at approximately 6:30 into the video, an “upcoming helmet from another brand”. I just wondered what the helmet was and if you stock it?
is this true that a college student drew this as a thesis and Bell jump in on the hype by people loving the design, but the truth is that it sucks? I want to buy one of this but utility first for me before aesthetics..
If it were universally unsafe, it would not have passed the CE approval at all - it does vary based on your face shape

The noise begin on 110 km speed. Bell helmet need to choice one size up.
I've found that I get fogging at almost any temperature. Great looking and comfortable but not terribly practical.
THE GAMING SOLDIER Same on my Bell Qualifier. Thinking Nexx range worth a look.
Is it suitable for round oval head shape?
so is it wider than the sides?
Love em.

Agreed. I wouldn't waste my money.
You are right most uncomfortable helmet, and can 9nly wear for short journeys. Only good thing is good vision. Very very noisy helmet.

Bell needs to make a quiet version
Wonder if this would look good on a Svartpilen 401 or if its to retro 🤔
I reckon you'll get away with it
Bullit or Shoei Glamster or Arai Rapide? Definitely not the Bullit.
vriendelijkegroet rapide all day

But sir what About protection
The Bullitt is ECE approved. What protection in specific were you wanting to know ? UR
Do they do a pinlock as I find mine fogs up?
Hi Lee, Sadly there isn't a pinlock to fit a Bullit visor but I do recommend this: www.urbanrider.co.uk/muc-off-premium-anti-fog-treatment-32ml.html . Hope this helps - Iza
what a good looking helmet bullit is 🤩🤩🤩but its so so costly
Which was that black and white helmet that was upcoming??
Sorry, which one do you mean?
Your mean min 6:30 this is the saje módem with different decoration. White circle.
best fit with Triumph Trident 660
Do you have any recommendations on customizations that can make the Bullitt more quiet?
I wear ear plugs with every helmet I use - this makes a huge difference. Other than that, a balaclava will make a small amount of difference.
I have put a folded tissue in the air vent at the back. Tuck it in from inside the helmet and the whistling stops. At the expense of the vent working though!
I put several pieces of of foam where the clear face shield meets the helmet…
Would a rf1200 user be able to fit these? Did they ever upgrade the chin bar, it was very flimsy years ago.
Both brands share a neutral intermediate fit, but would be ideal to try one on to be sure, no upgrades have been made to the chin bar.
I have AGV sportmodular size L, which size should i buy ?

Hey William, this is something that Bell have taken on board and fixed within the current line up providing a much comfier fit- UR
Would you be willing to sell it
6:29 can somebody please tell me which helmet is this and if it’s out yet?

fits round head?

Beautiful piece..however..noisy, wet and impractical..a lot of money for a helmet that can only be used under very specific conditions :(
Much better helmets than this on the market for that money.
Like what?
