Cziffra's multiple takes of this etude are all different but they all bring out the 'Appassionata' title more than any other pianist I've ever heard.

Cziffra is the greatest pianist I had ever heard even better than Horowitz Franz Liszt would have been in heaven to have heard him There will never be another person like Cziffra at least not in my lifetime

I have never heard anyone play these pieces with such microscopic control of pulse, rhythm, dynamics and color, with never flagging virtuosity

Fiery and passionate for sure which is a must with Cziffra in this style of piece. In the quieter section there is also a feeling of intense yearning or longing while the final added flourish, which probably upsets the purist, is typical Cziffra. Fabulous playing.
