Dave has the memory of a baboon: great long term memory, but bad short term memory. He can recall a specific scene from Top Gun from over 37 years ago, yet can't remember the name of the pizzeria he named less than a minute before.
Didn't expect that crunch on the first bite and DEFINITELY didn't expect that score! 😳 This dude is gonna be royally F'ed if he doesn't fix his system!
That deserved a 7.9, that looked as good as a "sub-8" pie can look, I think the "thickness" took it down a notch for Dave. That is a fantastic "neighborhood" go-to pie. I lived in Waltham over 40 years ago, and there was a pizza place on Main Street named "Sal's" that was a solid low 8 all day long. I think it was the best pie I had while I was living in Mass other than Pizzeria Regina.
@@ianc3934 Nah, I think it was cooked perfectly. I would have scored it an 8.1, but that's not his style, he doesn't like "doughy" pies, and that was a bit too thick for him. He never scores that kind of pie in the eights.
I lived in Waltham (Brandeis) 40 years ago. Do you remember Franca's brick oven pizza that was next to the beginning of Moody St. across from Mimi's Roast Beef and the commuter rail station? I used to love that place - we ate there constantly.
@@adamgordon6435 Unfortunately, I don't remember that place. I do remember, however, buying a "tape deck" at "Waltham Camera and Stereo" on Moody Street! "Sal's" Pizza was my place! I lived up on Lexington Street in a fairly decent apt. complex as I recall. I knew that Brandeis was in Waltham, but never made it over there.
I'm originally from the area where Joanie's is that Dave likes. It's seriously no joke, it's absolutely incredible. Best pizza for miles for that county. Insanely delicious.
Me after 5 seconds hearing it’s a bakery.. “this will be a 6.6” Me After first view.. “that’s a 6.9 tops” Me after Dave’s first bite.. “woah this could be a high 7”
Glad this place got a good score. The owner is pretty passionate about his food and I’ve read a few negative reviews where he goes off on person for being an idiot. Haha. Been meaning to try them for dinner.
I was talking about bakery pizzas at work today. This was exactly what I was describing. The dough is a little thicker and the crust is fluffier. Makes for a heavier pizza (definitely not a "football" pizza) but usually the dough is very tasty...it's the rest of the pizza that can be hit or miss. The undercarriage looked good, so I knew at least the dough/crust would be good. From the way it looked when he bit into it, and his reaction...I think this should've been a 7.9-8.1. I think the heavier crust and abundance of cheese knocked it down (for him,) whereas I bet a LOT of people would see those things as positives, and rank it higher. Not a pizza I could eat all day every day, but once a week or every 2 weeks...sure. Would love to try it!
WOW !!!! A compliment to Austin,,,, Dave are you feeling well ??? Now I've seen it ALL,,, Merry Christmas Austin, you may not hear that again, celebrate the win......
That pizza is right up my alley, I would absolutely destroy that thing. Would probably order two so I could have cold pizza next morning and not give a fuck.
Joanies deserved better than 8.4. Much better. Closer to 9 when you got Dave talking about it spot to spot This place looked real solid as well honestly
Dude was bloated after gorging out on pizza all day already, and gave this a 7.8. Wonder how high his score might have been if he didn't already have tomato sauce acid reflux coming up his throat.
Just to clarify, there was a big storm in the area the other day, lots of places in the area are without Internet, and/or electricity. I have ordered from there before using the webpage. I'm pretty sure they accept credit cards. I'm assuming they were trying to say we don't have wifi as in today, so they can't accept orders online or take a credit card today. It's seems like Dave assumed they meant we don't have wifi or take credit cards, as a typical thing.
The best part is the Closed sign behind you, And no Wifi to take online orders. Its like their trying to go out of business LOL good score, the pizza looked delicious!
I saw u doing some frozen pizza reviews. The Aldi store brand. Not gonna lie, impressed by a store brand. The thin crust cheese or sausage and pep. I feel u wouldnt be disappointed. I was shocked
This looks awesome. To have all of that going on when there’s a solid amount of cheese is impressive. Sometimes Dave penalizes pizzas like this for extra cheese even though the extra cheese didn’t diminish other aspects of the slice
Prez: “I’ve already ate a whole pizza plus a couple reviews. I couldn’t eat another bite but I have to” proceeds to do the whole review, close the box and continue eating the rest of slice just for pleasure
Dave, please, please make it down to Cape Cod. Come to Sandwich Ma and hit The Edge pizza. The bomb Detroit style. I know it's not your particular forte but I think you'd dig it man. Hope to meet you one day.
Me, too! And it’s even worse when I watch those two British guys doing food reviews here in US. Their channel is called “Jolly”, I think. They are funny, too.
darn I really wanted that chunk of cheese to be ate, which you ever so casually wiped on the box :( love these. Come back to NEPA Sabatinis/Gerrys/Angelos and get the damn sweet sauce at gerris/angelos
Skips a nice dinner because he's full from gorging on pizza. Goes and gets pizza. Dedicated to his craft, everybody knows the rules.
One perfect excuse to skip a dinner you didn't want to go to, everybody knows the rules
If Dave scores the pizza below a 5 Dave should be allowed to let off a pizza fart in the owners face !!!
Dave has a talent for selecting the least cooked slice on every pie.
Drives me nuts!
Test the chain by it's weakest link.
He loves bubbles and never selects those either.
And eats it screaming hot.
Yet he grabbed a slice that looked nearly the most charred?
This Mass trip has been insane. So many good quality pizzas. And love that Joanie's is STILL being talked about by Dave.
"insane."
It's a fixation. He can't help it. It's what makes him good at his business. Not a Type A thing, but an applied ADHD superpower. Yeah, that.
STILL talking about it 1-2 hours later.
Jonies was robbed of a high 8/low 9 if he's still talking about it this much.
If they cannot process orders, sounds like they cannot pay their bills.
I love Enzina. They’re so good. They were pizza/restaurant before they opened the bakery. I think they import most of the ingredients from Italy too.

Agree, I had it a 7.9 before he scored it.
I agree.. 1 more minute in the oven I think might’ve done it for an 8.1

7.8 is a great score for a pizza in Waltham! Thank you Dave!

One crispy bite, no wifi but a great score from the Prez. Everybody knows the rules.
The way Dave always mis-pronounces “Halle Berry” has grown on me-he is authentically the exact same person in every context😂
That pizza is right up my alley, I would absolutely destroy that thing. Would probably order two so I could have cold pizza next morning and not give a fuck.
Halle Berry and Dave were wearing the same jacket but probably no one here is surprised to hear that.
And I'm pretty sure nobody noticed David!
One bite everybody knows Wi-Fi is essential 📶
Joanies was an 8.9/9.1 EASILY.
This one looked great though. Top crunch
Dave has mentioned Joanie’s in every review since he had that pizza 😂
This a historic moment in One Bite history. For the first time EVER Dave actually picked one of the most cooked slices. 😂
You say most cooked slice, and the second commenter says he picked the least cooked slice. Someone is lying

Yeah Prez might have to break the rule and revisit.
He has never stopped pushing Joanie's. Definitely deserves a 9.2

"I go Halle....nice jacket................... she laughed" hahahaha
Walt Ham. In England we would pronounce that Wolfum
