Oh My GOD! I am crest fallen! My GOD of guitarist has been surpassed by Steve Stevens. He is SO fucking brilliant and such a likable guy! Rock On, Steve!
02:03 I never realized there was a double note at the end of the "Gary Moore" lick before, speed tends to mask it a little, I've been playing it wrong for years
@P00TANARA That's not what he says - the Chord Progression is similar to the Spanish Fandango Cadenza (like Am G F E). What he says is that the pull-off-like licks that he puts on top of that remind him of techniques that Angus Young uses...
incredible guitar player and yes, underrated. always loves his stylistic and atmospheric sonic approach. is he playing a classical guitar (nylon strings) with a pick? just curious. cause then i have to start incorporating this in my practice routine...rr
liam erick okay thanks for bringing that up. I got confused as I have them from both GT and TG and some are quite similar with font etc. Will change it now.
Not being very familiar with this guitarist, but having just watched this video, I can categorically say that he does not use the word Flamenco, but he does use the word Spanish. Many of the techniques he is practicing are common in Spanish guitar music. There are too many examples to list.
If anyone can provide the tabs for what he plays at 0:38 that would be fantastic. Been trying to figure out what's going on for a while and can't seem to nail it. Thank you guys
Sorry I don't have them I've lost the magazine that had the tabs. I'll see if I can work it out and email the tab to you or something if that's any help.
Does Steve say himself that he is playing flamenco? Because what I understand most people listening to this (myself included) Dont know much about flamenco, and therefore we call every Spanish sounding guitar playing flamenco. If you would ask Steve I dont think he would call it Flamenco either, If you are to be trusted and this is infact not flamenco.
"The simple little thing"is a Gary Moore trademark lick which Gary played a lot in the 70,s with Lizzy and also with the jazz rock fusion band Colliseum im sure you know that Billy. And nothing wrong with you copying that but maybe mention Gary would be nice as a tribute but at the same time its no big deal but just saying..
I will take that bet. Stop crying about Steve Steven's shitty flamenco playing. He's a rock guitarist - he doesn't know squat about flamenco. I can be a critic because I am a huge fan of Flamenco and a actually play it, not fake flamenco (aka playing guitar fast with spanish sounding notes and chords) it would be like me quickly tapping and stamping my shoes against the ground in whatever way i like and then saying I'm a great tap dancer.
Great Guitarist, class act and one of the worlds best side men.
He's amazing. Just have to practice 😊
awesome guitar player...even partied with this dude in Tempe AZ in the 80's...one hell of a nice guy, too...
What An Unbelievable Artist. Makes It Look So Easy. Brilliant Masterclass From A Supreme Guy. Cheers Mr Stevens.
underrated guitar player. no question on his talent. listen the solo on billy idol's blue highway.
I've loved his playing since the 80's. He rocks!

"Flamenco a go go" is an excellent album. I wonder how Steve got in touch with Faudel (on the song "Hanina")
incredible guitar player and yes, underrated. always loves his stylistic and atmospheric sonic approach. is he playing a classical guitar (nylon strings) with a pick? just curious. cause then i have to start incorporating this in my practice routine...rr
robert roussett yeah he is.
what is that he starts playing at 2:41 it sounds amazing
It sounds a bit and i mean a "bit" like Classical Gas - Mason Williams but someone will most likely correct me :)
That’s the intro to Ritchie Blackmore’s “Memmingen” from the first Blackmore’s Night cd. (Wish I saw this nine years ago!)
@@richlabombard6780 lol thanks so much. Better late than never
it's not from total guitar, it's from guitar techniques magazine.
liam erick okay thanks for bringing that up. I got confused as I have them from both GT and TG and some are quite similar with font etc. Will change it now.

steve: "to me it just connects with me"
me: " damn that sounds bad ass!"
Yes !!! He is the man!
Not being very familiar with this guitarist, but having just watched this video, I can categorically say that he does not use the word Flamenco, but he does use the word Spanish. Many of the techniques he is practicing are common in Spanish guitar music. There are too many examples to list.

looking at 16rpm speed he cool
Randy Rhodes was very good at that as well
That's paco de Lucia stuff
no one said it was
Hi looks like Gerard Depardieu!
Love the guy but I always think that he has a pick in his mouth but it is his piercing. lol.
PACO DE LUCIA!
I'm taking another run to the border SA
2 cool 4 words $$$
Randy Rhodes blended the two styles best as well.

maybe he can ask "billy", ffs at least get his name right
resvala mucho el wey tocando
I want to marry you.....But I also LOVE your girl..... I lose!
I am sorry but the chord progressions at the beginning are NOT and Angus Young thing!!
P00TANARA And thats not what his saying eighter. Its the lick his refering to(Thunderstruck=AC/DC)
None of this is Flamenco. Any mediocre flamenco guitarist could smash this easily.

there's a bitter arsehole in every corner it seems
only problem he's too slow, and not dinamic. :D
