1. 1 O strong man, why boast in your evil schemes?
God’s covenant love endures all day long.
2 Your tongue is destructive- a razor-sharp blade,
3 And you prefer evil and lies to the truth.
2. 4 O tongue of deceit, you love harmful words,
5 So God will forever tear you right down;
He’ll scatter you, plucking you out of your tent;
You’ll out of the land of the living be sent.3.
6 The righteous will see, they’ll be filled with awe;
7 They’ll laugh at him, say, “Here now is the one
Who made not his stronghold in God, but instead,
In riches confiding, sought strength from his schemes.”
4. 8 A green olive tree in God’s house I’m set;
I trust in God’s love which never will fail.
9 Forever I’ll praise You for what You have done;
I'll hope in Your kindness with all of Your saints.
