I love playing a high card while there’s five of a kind in hand because you’re that committed to the build. And I mean that in a completely sincere way.

Ice changes its slipperiness depending on how much pressure you slide with. Ice is a crystal that spreads itself out because of the pattern of the crystal, so its less dense than water. But the crystal is not just brittle, when you compress it, it has a putty texture. There are many different types of ice called ice 1 ice 2 ice 3 ect, based on how much pressure its under. When you ask, why does a 300lb sled on two slender rails slide so easily over ice, the answer is which phase of ice is which part of the rail sliding over? is it ice 1, ice 2? well its an inter state of ice. Which scientist don't have a full simulation for because it depends on the shape of the pressure that causes different shapes of different phases of ice. We can observe slipperiness on ice, and we have traditions for how to maximize it, but we don't have a model to predict how slippery a given shape at a given pressure will be on ice.
Cement is to flour as concrete is to bread. And yes a thin layer of water is what makes ice slick. I used to visit with a trucker who was stationed in Antarctica testing military equipment in extreme conditions. He said it's so cold that the water layer is unable to form so you can drive on the ice like it's a highway. Not slick at all.
I don’t think it’s actually settled that it’s a thin layer of water, or some other mechanism such as a sort of transitional phase of non crystalline water or something else going on at the surface (I’ve at least seen some studies and simulations on this topic). Certainly though the effect does clearly only occur at higher temperatures.

Cauliflower is better than broccoli though. Broccoli is better steamed or with cheese but cauliflower is better when it’s been fried or baked. Ever have cauliflower wings? It’s an experience broccoli can’t provide.
Cauliflower and Broccoli are genetically from the same plant, wild cabbage. I agree they taste very similar, and many other people also share that opinion... because they are in fact genetically similar.
