I don't recognize any subgenres but Acid, Techno and House. There is a distinct difference between these three, the rest is splitting hairs. Maybe I'll reconsider in twenty years about 'trance'. Maybe.
It looks like an Arturia Beatstep pro. A popular midi sequencer. I also think I'm sure I see an Eventide Space Reverb in front of it. Cant see his computer screen, but he's more than likely using Ableton. There's probably a couple other pieces of equipment we cant see. Its a bit dark to really tell.
Lovely crowd. They were ready. Polar inertia reminds me of all the countless artists from the psy-chill scene (like Solar Fields and others) but with the techno approach. I love some of his works, but this set feels boring most of the time. Hope it felt better live.

But I'm pretty experienced listener as well and I've heard all sorts of production, so I can't quite call his production as something from the outer world. He has a unique style for sure, but production-wise it's not the top line creativity by my own standards.
lol, this is by far the best section of techno, finally someone who doesn't play just some hi hat or 808 clap like len faki et alia but that really put you in a musical journey, hypnus records is another example
