      easiest way is to have the tracking camera mounted on the servos and let it center itself. otherwise you would need to figure out the distance to the person somehow and then the vector math isnt that complicated as long as the camera and turret dont move. But calculating the distance to the person is the hardest part@@CraftingTableMC

    Just for the record, if you want decent accuracy you may want to use stepper motors instead of servos, i did try with servos but the movement granularity or accuracy weren't that great.
    With steppers on the other hand you could easily aim for the eyeball with the right tracking.

    To be clear, this is just Cartesian mapping for the servo position. I.e. the “turret” isn’t actually aiming at the subject, it’s just rotating left and right and up and down depending on how much he moves. In fact quite different

    This runs using Python so it should be easy enough to set up on something like a Raspberry Pi. You could then do away with the arduino. Looks like a really fun project.

      the inference is being done on the laptop. arduino cannot do openCV. The arduino is just sending PWM to the servos. All computing is being done on laptop.

    Now a question, how does it react with multiple targets?
    Does it fix on one? Does it open multiple sights?
    He would technically fix it on one and after slaughtering it he would fix it on another?
    I ask this because I also wondered about the processing capacity of this information with multiple targets.

      It depends on the Machine Learning Model you Train On. If you pass Multiple faces in your training data.. along with the headshot position. Your Model will detect it

    I have a doubt , can we setup boundaries in such a way if the target lock goes outside a boundary range or if it doesn't lock at all, it will show us a warning?

      Silly question. If you can set up an algorithm that uses hesd tracking, whether it's the sliding window object or some other CNN, you better be able to program it to give you a warning if target goes off screen. Otherwise you just copy and pasting code.

    Understand that the head tracking is handle by the laptop which looks very fast, but there is a slight latency when the servors are moving to the position.

    This is pretty cool now you just need to get the direction of movement and add an offset to get the target to line up with movement. You would never miss. distance away from the target would specify the offset time between travel distance

    Cool prototype, but unfortunately it doesn't take the acceleration and speed of the target into account (at least it doesn't look like it does), by just moving fast enough the system would always miss, it always aims where the target is, not where it will be

      Bullets are pretty fast, so if you put it in a narrow hallway I don't think you'll need to do much "prediction". Also, anyone raiding your house would probably have a lot of gear on, which would slow them down and make it easier for this thing to land a shot

    However, shooting in this manner will not result in a successful hit unless you utilize laser technology. It would be more precise if you incorporate an algorithm that takes into account the distance of the target, the speed at which the target is moving, and the velocity of the bullet, in order to determine the anticipated point of impact.

    I just stumbled into this so i have more studying to do. i think if the camera was mounted to the moving mount.... You could accurately target.

    Excellent work! This is just great. Think it will detect a squirrel face? I want to spray them with a water gun so they stop trying to tunnel in through my front door.

      Use yolo and train a custom model for squirrel. Make that model into an engine file with half precision and load it into a tracking script. Also incorporate serial comm in it so that it can send Arduino the coordinates and make your mechanics move accordingly.

    I think for cars coming from the front and back that don't turn off their high beams, it's the same but it will focus on the light.

    everithing is okay but the servo is not moving but i see the led blinking on the arduino and its have the signal bud servo dont do anything. can anyone help me?
