Hi there this video sorted answer my question but I have a another one I normally on a set run at night 5 to 6 nights a week so noon start on my book I was just asked today if I wanted to do a Sunday run with a 10am start not my normal 4pm start so should I start my book at noon and go onto a second page? Because I won’t have enough time if I start at midnight on my book to put a 24 hour break in thanks

Sure. We have a online course where you will learn everything you need to know about logbooks. Here is a link: www.sdt.nz/logbook-course-online/

      Hi Clayton
Thank you for your comment. We need to start from some where. The best start is to watch this play list from the beginning because before you fill in a logbook you need to understand a work time and logbook rule. I have already made those videos for you. If you want more guided studies we have an online course which only cost $35 that will trach you how to fill in a logbook: www.sdt.nz/logbook-course-online/

I have a question... I drive class 2 truck within 50km radius from the base. Once a month I have to go beyond that radius, which cancels my logbook exemption. So can I just fill it on that particular day or do I have to do it on all other days of the month (when inside the 50km radius)?

Thank you for your question. I ll address it within the next few weeks. But here is a short answer:
If you start a work period and stay within a 50 km radius, you don’t need a logbook for those days. But as soon as you go beyond the 50 km zone, you must keep a logbook for all the days in that work period.
For example, if you start on Monday and stay within 50 km on Monday and Tuesday, you don’t need a logbook yet. But if you drive beyond 50 km on Wednesday, then you need to keep a logbook for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. On Thursday and friday you are back to driving within 50 km radius. You must keep logbook on monday , Tuesday, wednesday, Thursday and friday. This continues until you end the work period by taking a 24-hour break.
      Hope it helps

Thanks. So do I need to do detailed entries for the past days (Mon, Tue) which I might not remember? Or can I just write 'Driving within 50km radius' :)
