Not even a comedy banana next to it. and I still love how much the sales guy had to make sure when compering the NS-1000’s drivers with the new ones not to say the new ones are better that’s really kind of funny. “What we found with the xylon once it’s formed, it has very similar features as the beryllium” yer not the same, not better, just similar, Its similar in that it creates sound waves, comedy gold.

I like Yamaha audio. I have an older surround receiver and it is pretty decent. The new surround receivers are built well but ugly. Not sure what went wrong there.
The surviving Japanese audio manufacturers only occasionally launch hi-end products ----- Yamaha, Sony, Denon. Only rare manufacturers like Accuphase produce hi end only gears continuously.
Could a video have been more disappointing than this??? No. As you said, you don’t see many if any videos on Yamaha’s flagship line…and what did you give us…things we could have read about on Yamahas website but absolutely no reference at all as to how good or bad those 15,000 dollar speakers sounded…which I was waiting for with baited breath!! I own a AS801 which I love driving my KLH Kendalls! But I used to own a pair of Yamaha’s insanely good NS-555 3-Way Towers. They were a steal at less than 600 for a pair. You need to do a follow video actually reviewing what you “heard” with much less goofing around!
@@carlosoliveira-rc2xt Not sure what you are referring your comment to Carlos?! The NS-555 are indeed classified TECHNICALLY, as Tower Floor-standing Loudspeakers. The have four drivers in a line array, supported by their own outrigger feet. And they stand more than 3 feet tall. Soooo, maybe you need to either delete your comment or amend it so you won’t sound so ignorant to other Audiophiles.

I have always used Yamaha starting with my first CR 2020 to my current AS 701 and 2200. I , however, have never cared for their speakers. I don’t think NS 5000 could sound better than source point 10s, that we have.
My CR 2020 was stolen in a burglary of our home about 30 years ago. They also took my prized Sony APM 22 ES’s. The best speakers I ever had for the money.
I don't trust mass market brands when they start making high end gear. Its almost always way overpriced for what you're getting. For me, its very important to know who's designing my gear. You have to hope that Yamaha has designers that are equally good at making speakers, amplification, and source components. To be fair, I haven't heard this system, so I can't have an opinion on it. My comments are in general, That said, given my experience with other, similar equipment, I would be surprised if I couldn't put a system together that sounds better for half the price, or even less.
Uhh Yamaha and Sony were making high-end since the '70s, just not always for the North American market. I mean Krell wasn't even a company yet and Mark Levinson was in it's infancy. In 1978 the flagship Yamaha 80lb receiver cost $1,500 USD which is $7,000 USD today. The preamp section was taken from their C2 separate preamp, had a real headamp that if I remember correctly put out 5 watts and if you mistuned the radio station as soon as you let go of the dial, it would automatically, electronically pull and lock the station for you. Most of the flagship monster receivers of the day were just powerful, but the Yamaha was so much more refined as well.
@@LennyFlorentine I don't have to trust anyone. You can if you want to, but that's a personal choice we all have to make for ourselves. As for "boutique brands", they're not all the same. For example, if you're looking for a new amp or preamp, Nelson Pass, Jeff Rowland, Charles Hanson, John Curl, Stewert Tyler, Ron Sutherland, Steve McCormack, Harry Westfield and Dan Dagastino are just a small handful of designers I would trust, and there are many more. Who's designing for Yamaha this week? Maybe the better question is, do they even have a designer, or is it being outsourced to some company in China? I like to know these things. Some people don't care, and that's their choice.
The thing about claiming you can put together a system that sounds better for half the price is that I've heard that sentiment a thousand times before and it never turns out to have any merit. If you're going to just base value on sound quality, it's possible ( less than half price is pure fantasy ) but it requires less build quality, fewer features, less performance capability and less power. I can tell by your statement you don't have much experience owning really high-end gear, even this $50,000 system is actually entry level high-end today. We live in a world where $100,000 amps sound much better than $20,000 amps. Lastly judging gear at a show demo or dealer is virtually useless. Over 30 years ago I auditioned a flagship five figure speaker from the number one dealer in the country and it sounded atrocious. Based on the reputation of the brand and the flagship status, I purchased them anyway. In my home with carefully chosen electronics (auditioned in my home) they sounded wonderful. A lot of dealers don't spend the time to maximize the potential of what they sell as it takes many, many hours to do so. BTW Yamaha has been making pianos since 1900 and wind instruments since 1965, for whatever that's worth.
By the way, i just took delivery of my new Emotiva T3 towers yesterday. Still breaking in. First impressions are great. Klipsch rf7 3s went down to the home theater. So these are taking over my stereo system. Big shoes to fill.
Hey just wanted some feedback. Did the t3+ sound better than the rf7. Can demo equipments where I live and cannot decide between the polk r700 or the emotiva t3+. Thanks again
@@ronniehosein7384 honestly there is some serious magic in those rf73s. I wont say the t3s are better. I cant. Im currently feeding the T3s 250 watts at 4 ohm. I could give them more watts and they would love it. They are needy. But its a totally different animal than the klipsch. I feel if i gave them 400-500 watts, they might outclass the Klipsch. But for 1/2 the price of the rf7s??? The T3s are pretty amazing for the price point. Keep in kind im still breaking them in. Maybe 20 hours of break in time so far… they sound better after a few hours for sure
@@ronniehosein7384 bottom line, if you are going with the T3s, feed them some serious juice. I was also considering the Polk reserve r700s. Ive heard those are good in even imperfect rooms. Down firing bass port sounds promising. Good luck w your decision!!!
@@ronniehosein7384 the only negative thing i will say about the emotivas is the delivery. I took off a day of work when they stated proposed delivery time… it didnt come that day, and i had to take off another day of work…. That sucked. The t3s come double boxed and are protected well. But there was still a huge gouge in one of the boxes. Speaker wasnt damaged, but i was worried…

@@carlosoliveira-rc2xt my conclusion of you was correct, you are just a end user. You have no idea of how electricity and transistors works. Learn electronics and you may come to understand " that source of the audio signal coming in to the amplifier has no direct connection to the electricity going out from amplifier to the speaker" Its merely a high amplitude replication of source signal coming in to the amplifier. There are no other ways to replicate original source electric signal in amplifiers, other than the method of analogue & digital amplification principles . Be it valve or transistors, be it analogue or digital, No other method of amplification possible!. All we can do is..use better components, tighter values and tolerance and strict filters , silver/gold cables, cleaner power supplies etc. We will talk about speakers next time.

As much as I'd love to have that separate amp and pre-amp the $20,000 combined price tag is a bit over my limit. I did recently get the A-S3200 Integrated Amp and the CD-S2100 CD SACD player for $8,000 and $3,000 and that was way over what I had originally planned on. I think those humongous turntables look silly, but that one isn't as huge as others I've seen.
@@jjinglenuts Yes, I do have the SACD running through XLR cables. I was considering a phono pre-amp with balanced for my turntable but the pre-amp in the A-S3200 is doing a great job with my low output moving coil cartridge so I can't see wasting the money.

Just felt like another example of "don't make 'em like they used to" in effect. :/

“ur the turntable this was designed as a balanced signal path all the way through so from the tip of the stylus in the groove you got left and right so they’re kind of all mixed together and the stylus separates into left and right plus and minus that goes to XLR balance cables they never touch ground anywhere through this whole system goes into the preamp and you talk about the moving coil preamp ur the EQ that’s in there and it’s all discrete and it’s a huge (sup)port it’s sophisticated then then it goes through all the tone controls which are all balanced then it goes XLR out into the power amp which is a balance a floating and balanced power amplifier nothing’s ground still then it goes out the speakers terminals to the speakers so the whole signal from your stylus to your speaker terminal is floating and what that does for us if we do it right and I think we have there’s no restriction on the sound the audio has room to breathe you’ll hear it in the dynamics of what we play play for here when there’s something has to happen it happens because there’s nothing holding it back you know theirs is it’s just floating waiting to do something, the speakers are made to do stuff those the preamp is made to do stuff the amp is made to do to do you know give it give you whatever you want”
Now when I clicked on the video I was not searching for audio babble snake oil sales man but man this hole section, in fact almost everything he says about these products does not feal me with hope… and any one spending 50k on this setup is never going to tern around and be like “yer maybe this was a bit more hyped up than what gets delivered”
and what’s with the host? He is not giving us any interesting information he just keeps commenting on how big things are “look at the size of that “ like that has any bearing on how well produced these items are. “I don’t think the video does it justice of how massive these speakers really are” Its your video, you made it, why did you not just show us how massive these really are? Not even a comedy banana next to it. and I still love how much the sales guy had to make sure when compering the NS-1000’s drivers with the new ones not to say the new ones are better that’s really kind of funny. “What we found with the xylon once it’s formed, it has very similar features as the beryllium” yer not the same, not better, just similar, Its similar in that it creates sound waves, comedy gold.
I would never wanna listen to music on a $6000 cd player, $6000 amp and $10000 speakers….since then I would have to come back home to reality and listen to music on my $300 cd player, $500 amp and $1000 speakers 😅
I like touching equipment and turning knobs too!
Got to thats why they are there!
I like Yamaha audio. I have an older surround receiver and it is pretty decent. The new surround receivers are built well but ugly. Not sure what went wrong there.
Used to have a ns-1000x in my studio great solid product.
Grass coating, I’m just joking, I’m sure that gentleman is 10x smarter than me, no disrespect sir.
The surviving Japanese audio manufacturers only occasionally launch hi-end products ----- Yamaha, Sony, Denon. Only rare manufacturers like Accuphase produce hi end only gears continuously.
Even without hearing it... its stunning!
Yamaha are a music instrument company foremost. They know how to reproduce sound perfectly
That cone cloth was stolen from John Wicks tailor
❤my yamaha RXV-1050 with Klipsch kg4 speakers, 30 years old.
Yeah I'm buying Japanese alright, the 50k will go toward a Supra ,with a nice stereo built in and I'll sit in it.
The Supra may not last as long as these
Never knew Yamaha made really high end gear. You never hear about it.
We need direct comparison with 1000m!
Note to the Yamaha guy.....You're not displaying the Crown Jewels.
Yamaha is the Honda of audio equipment. _BUILD_ _QUALITY_
One speaker I will own one day NS2000!!
Look who is goofing around as well, referring to 3 feet tall speakers as towers.

My Stereo Stereo PA System is Priceless Because All of My Speakers are DIY Build and All of My Mid Woofers & Woofers and Sub Woofers Have MM Surround on These Speakers!!!
I Will not Buy Speakers that Have Foam Surround At All***
I have Speakers that Have Foam Surround Rott Away After 10 to 20 Years Owening The Speakers!!!
Good Video!!!!
YOU lost me at the $8000.00 turntable!!!😃
They create a problem and then look for funding to solve it
This is my dream system
You can have similar vintage system 8k maximum
I have always used Yamaha starting with my first CR 2020 to my current AS 701 and 2200. I , however, have never cared for their speakers. I don’t think NS 5000 could sound better than source point 10s, that we have.
Love the SourcePoint 10s! A great match to the AS2200, which has been known to sound exactly like the CR 2020!
I think you gotta trust an og brand like Yanaha. It's these small boutique brands I typically don't trust. Great take, thanks for sharing!
@@AT-wl9yq Of which Charles Hanson do you speak?
Every time i hear a yamaha i end up with a luxman.
Part 2 ?
I sat in same room at apoxna, i wasnt impressed but im blaming the room
Thanks for the video.
The speaker is built like a Yamaha Grand Piano, you are going to break your knuckles if you try to Punch it.
Yeah it sure it
Piano black = fingerprint magnet, whatever the cost. Listening to music should be fun not fussing around with a cloth
You are talking TRUTH
Holy moly, what a beauty :) cool video!
Thanks!
These are the kind of sales people which have self-trained themselves over years to lie you directly into your face with a friendly face! Their "explanations" are rubbish! Oversimplified tech-trash! Oh how wonderfull Zylon is! Makes me laugh real hard ....
Noooooo....I watched the entire video hoping to get a demo and your reaction to the sound.
Audio tech has reached its peak long time back, they just cant improve anymore, just money grabbing , useless stuff.
Even the video has reached its peak
Nonsense!
@@carlosoliveira-rc2xt , you have no idea of electronic s, you could be end product user with big ego.
No chance of improvement Unless we change the way speaker works.
@@lankaninternational1120 Show me your perfect amp "from way back" and compare it to my current Boulder amp and see which sounds better in a nice high-end setup. I guess every year when amps keep improving sound quality it's all a mass delusion or conspiracy and the CD player from the early '80s was " perfect sound forever " and no improvements since, either or how about............you're insane!
@@carlosoliveira-rc2xt my conclusion of you was correct, you are just a end user.
You have no idea of how electricity and transistors works. Learn electronics and you may come to understand
" that source of the audio signal coming in to the amplifier has no direct connection to the electricity going out from amplifier to the speaker"
Its merely a high amplitude replication of source signal coming in to the amplifier.
There are no other ways to replicate original source electric signal in amplifiers, other than the method of analogue & digital amplification principles .
Be it valve or transistors, be it analogue or digital,
No other method of amplification possible!.
All we can do is..use better components, tighter values and tolerance and strict filters , silver/gold cables, cleaner power supplies etc.
We will talk about speakers next time.
Magnifico.🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

Excellent system 50,000 dollars for the houl system 🤔that's a lot of cash 🇺🇲🤓😄🔥😁👍but I love the yamaha great show just Audio iv got something for you check out the new headphones the name is skullycandy headphones can you do a show about them you would be impressed by the shear power of the bass on this headphones perhaps
its a dirty job but someones gotta do it
As much as I'd love to have that separate amp and pre-amp the $20,000 combined price tag is a bit over my limit. I did recently get the A-S3200 Integrated Amp and the CD-S2100 CD SACD player for $8,000 and $3,000 and that was way over what I had originally planned on. I think those humongous turntables look silly, but that one isn't as huge as others I've seen.
@@jjinglenuts
Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of, lol. 😄
@@jjinglenuts
Yes, I do have the SACD running through XLR cables. I was considering a phono pre-amp with balanced for my turntable but the pre-amp in the A-S3200 is doing a great job with my low output moving coil cartridge so I can't see wasting the money.
I could buy this system right now for what wouldn't make me happy I like my onkyo m504 driving my altec Lansing voice of the theater.
And if I was him I would know everything about the system witch he didn't........
Just audio sounds like you selling out.
Kinda what we end up with pro he is not convincing
Sorry I like just audio and will always but this guy is a dork.
If we do it right I think we have sucks
Then I guess U R lucky to have missed the $1,000,000.00 Dollar Room at AXOPNA ....Ahahahahahahaha Oh! Look its the Future Fi Fix for the Late NS-1000M Speakers...from Yesteryear...with the Beryllium Tweeter and Mid Range....Very Clever idea on the Port release... Very Clever. Yes, the Turntable idea for Straight Tone Arms is not new I had a Pioneer or Technics Back...and I mean Back in the day... Ran Great for 2 years. Its drawback back then were Cartridge Choices. And yes even though there were back then I think only two Straight Tracking Tone Arms was B and O. But No Interchangeability. And I don't doubt for a second it sounded great. I can relate Price wise on of for everything with the exception of the turntable. And Yes I understand their design goal and it makes perfect sense. But that's not to say If I the Ging Wah to throw down I wouldn't. I just think its a ridiculous price period for ANY turntable not matter the materials etc. And I doubt the R and D to design it was than laborious and I bet the materials in and of themselves are not "Rare Earth" so... ITS NOT a Meteorological Microscope ^ Ton Granite Slab floating on a curtain of air...ok... lol...
We may have or we may not have... guess everyone will see soon
This speakers great but not even close to yamaha ns2000!
Agreed. I've heard the 5000 series in a store, and while it's a superb system, it just made me realize how fortunate I am to have obtained and restore a Yamaha C-1 VFET preamp, and NS-1200 speakers (all-out attempt with Wharfdale). Just felt like another example of "don't make 'em like they used to" in effect. :/
While I think your enthusiasm and production is GREAT! Yamaha equipment just cannot be taken seriously as these price levels. They make budget equipment and it's a bridge too far to ask these prices. They have almost zero brand cache' and no resale value.
Yamaha is the number one brand for musical instruments and are huge in the monitor and PA section. So their name is well established! And they have made great HiFi for many a years. I agree these products are expensive but also exceptional. Compared to a lot of exclusive high end products they dont seem so expensive..
