  • Taking your advice, many of you have suggested I just need more practice in the Kubota. That's what I do today, I find the forks are not visible at ground level when in the tractor which makes it tricky for me. I am sure one of you has a suggestion or two on how to make the approach with the forks.
This was all inspired by wanting to change my firewood system, so I set out to build a simply crate out of the free pallets I have on hand. I don't know how well this will work, but I thought I'd give it a try.

I have the exact same tractor/loader/forks etc. This may not be the safest way to do it, but works for me. Get forks close to where pallet is, get out of tractor. Stand with the door open on the right side of tractor, you will have easy access to the motion pedal and joystick. Throttle up just a bit, you will have clear line of site of forks and pallet. With left hand maneuver joystick for forks and slightly push motion pedal forward, alot easier this way I find and wont damage anything. If got many pallets to move maybe be kin of slow. Take Care

Some people make it look to easy. I wonder how many clips they deleted to get the perfect one.

Forks definitely take some time to get used to. I had mine on today to move my grading scraper that was on a pallet and it went up fine but, didn't want to come off. Got off the tractor to see that instead of having the forks through the skid I had managed to slide the right under the bottom😅

      Definitely a learning curve.

Hi Dave, I can well imagine the the forks take a little bit of time to master. Having a cab tractor must make it more difficult opposed to an open station tractor since your line of site would be lessen by the cab frame. I don't have any forks thus I have no suggestions to help out. I think that the pallet boxes should work even if you have to beef them up a bit.

Your not missing anything Paul. It’s frustrating to say the least. So long as the tractor can pick it up, it should work. Even beefing it up I’ll have next to no cost to me in it, it’s one big experiment. What can go wrong?🤷‍♂️

on a side note. How do you clean your chimminey on your Tulikivi? I have a wohler viper and cannot get up the chimmney on the top left side circular flue. Im wondering if I need to disconnect a section of the chimminy right above the Tuliviki to get my brush into the chimmney? What do you use and how do you get it into the chimminey to clean? thanks

This is one job that I hire out. But I can tell you how they did it as I watch the whole process. I have a very very steep roof. I cannot walk it that’s why I hired it out. They did a top down clean so they climb up to the roof, I believe it’s a 7 inch pipe and brushed it down. They then came inside and had multiple attachments that one on the end of a drill that snaked up the sides of the cleanouts with different size brush heads on them. I seldom hire anything out and after seeing these guys, take great detail, and how they clean this And I had used it for two years already without cleaning it. There was only a small handful of soot that they took out in the end. It burns very clean so I won’t be cleaning it every year. When I was going to clean it the first time I called the people I bought it from because they told me I could clean it from the inside up. And they said I needed something similar to what you were talking about. are you able to do the top down method? Honestly, how clean these burn I don’t ever have a concern for chimney fires like I would for the woodstove.

@@MtTopLiving Thanks for getting back to me. I was told by my Tuliviki dealer to go through the left side round flue on the left side and then go up the chimmney.Thats ridiculous cause you cant elbow the brush up into the chimminey on that angle. I''m going to disconnect the chimminey top by removing a few screws and then brushing it down up.I have a steep roof and its too high to do it top down. We do have very efficient masonry heaters but still want to clean them just in case.I also have a Heco 520 woodstove. chimminey cleaner wanted $ 500 to clean both.Ill do it myself. Thank you

@@steved2491 when they installed the shelf they ground it down at an angle, they said after 20 years of installations they learned it helped get the brush in there. My chimney service was $160 two guys for two hours. Well worth it to me.

@@MtTopLiving Theres a baffle or shelf with a small space and I could get the brush through there from the fire box. Going to disconnect the chimminey just abobe the Tuliviki and go from there. Your cleaning was reasonable at $ 160. $ 500 for 2 chimmineys is ridiculous. Will do it myself, thanks again
