    The transparency and comprehensive information from James Grage is second to none.
    It is the most helpful channel to older guys like me (47) to approach these issues realistically, instead of all the bs on other fitness channels.

    Great video James. One other topical product to consider is dutasteride. Dutasteride used topically won’t penetrate the skin as much as finasteride. I use a product (PhytoSolRx) that has dutasteride, caffeine, fluocinolone, latanoprost, minoxidil, tretinonin, and trichosol. The product has worked great for me so far. Keep the great content going. Btw you look great bud! Hard to believe you are almost 50 👊

    I'll be following for the updates on these products. I looked into trying the serum a couple of years back, but the potential side effects from these 2 compounds are very severe and can last several years even after quitting them!

    Hi James,
    Great video! I didn't know there was a spray version of finasteride. I ordered it yesterday, but in the UK we have a 0.1% concentration.
    I noticed you split your testosterone injections into two per week. Does that mean you're taking them every 3rd or 4th day?
    Take care!

    Do you think low T will cause grey hair and overall thinning hair all over my scalp . It seems my hair is thinner all around my scalp not just the top . I always though high T causes hair loss but it seems it’s the opposite ?

    I've thought for years on trt. Hair loss has always been one of the reasons why I never did it on top of the fact that once you start you have to do it for the rest of your life from what I hear. I guess in my case it might be genetic but it's hard to tell since every male in my family brother, cousins,father, uncles all have either lost their hair or are thinning badly . Accept my mother's father and my father's father. They both died with a full head of hair. I'm the only one left with a full head of hair. Being 51 there's no thinning or receding of hairline what so ever at this point in my life with some gray. I have no idea what my current testosterone levels are but my current bloodwork is perfect. Also I don't know if me taking collagen and biotin for many years has helped me keep my hair. On top of that never having even a sip of alcohol,no smoking,drugs, 6 to 8 eggs a day for years,low meat consumption and drinking only water since my teens maybe also has helped. So many possible factors who the heck knows. I've been working out since I was 19 and still feel great with body fat at 10% or under. But bottom line if one day I do need to go down the trt road it's nice to know that there's options to try to avoid hair loss or slow it down.Thansks James!! Your the best! As always quality content!!

      It’s incorrect that “once you start, ya have to do for rest of life.”
      That’s very ignorant. If you go on trt, then go off, you go back low like the reason you got on in first place. And you can do pct as a juicer body builder.
      And calling total bs on

      @@bige2012 Ignorant?Like I said, "from what I hear" So much up / down information on trt I'm just not willing nor is it necessary for me to go on it at this time. Calling b.s.? oh well... I've always struggled to gain weight and always been lean.Blood work is fine and I feel great. I've always been health conscious. That's all that really matters. Im healthy and happy. I don't strive for that number it's just my body and I guess just me also being consistent for 32 years. It's been frustrating to gain for so many years(especially with leg gain) but after awhile I just went with it. Once I started I was hooked. Still love and enjoy it to this day. The meal preps...not so much. 😆

    I am 33 years old, I have low T symptoms but last time I tested my T it was 16ng/L doctor told me he can’t put me on TRT on these levels. He put me on tadalafil. 2 years on I’m still suffering with mild ED and bad libido issues, weak joints and muscles, low energy, and brain fog etc. I’m planing to get my hormones tested soon and maybe start taking Testosterone. My question is if I start it with low dose like 80mg a week and then increase the dose if I need to! 3 months on 3 month off. Will this make me go infertile in long term? Because I wanna have more kids in near future.
    Also another question have you achieved this physic by just taking Testosterone or did you took any anabolics? I would be appreciated if you can answer my questions.

    • @JamesGrage
      @JamesGrage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In a recent interview with Dr Brett Osborn, who I've done other TRT related content with, he discusses the importance of physicians listening to how their patients "feel" and not making an assessment purely off bloodwork. For example, you can have lower T-levels but feel great and there may be no need for TRT, or you could be the opposite and have normal T-levels but feel off. With that said, it's a tough call for a lot of physicians because typically they don't like prescribing TRT until you are in the years where men typically start to experience the symptoms of low T (40+). Now to answer your question on infertility - I'm not a fertility expert by any stretch of the imagination but depending on who you ask you will get very different answers. One one side, you'll hear that if you keep testosterone within normal healthy ranges (based on bloodwork) you should have no issues. On the other side, I've know plenty of professional bodybuilders who have abused anabolics for decades and still ended up with a half-dozen kids. Former Mr Olympia Ronnie Coleman has 8 kids if memory serves me right. Now, on the flip side I've seen other bodybuilders who absolutely had fertility issues. So, the reality is there is no one-size fits all answer and it will depend on the individual.

    Higher dht will constrict hair follicle causing hair to fall out Easier. Not everyone will be effected negatively tho

  • @bigjay1970
    @bigjay1970 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It doesn't help, that's for sure. Atleast without dht blockers. Are there outliers, sure but many are effected.🤔🤫 For every person that's taking the trt dosage that they're supposed too, there's 20 others that are just inching up their dosage ever so slightly and Bam!

    • @JamesGrage
      @JamesGrage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yep, no doubt! It's tempting for a lot of guys to inch up their dosage. You feel stronger, bigger and more virility - but it can come at a cost.

    6:35 I think that it doesnt matter if you take 1 shot a week or 5 shots a week to get smaller peaks. If the testosterone amount is the same at the end of the week like 150 its going to produce exact same amount DHT, just in different tempo. Studying hairloss 15+ years I think this argument is wrong. It simply doesnt make any sense and the end result is precicely same amount DHT.
    Also those hair loss ages are totally wrong. Hair loss starts most often in teenage years and depending how aggressive it is you see hair thinning/receding from about 20 to 35 years but most certainly you see it before 50. I dont know where he gets the numbers but they are very badly wrong. Again this is science.
    Also why you try to use natural methods to lower DHT but dont take the pill which about 90% more potent for hair loss than topical finasteride. If you manage to lower DHT by natural methods the negative symptoms are, againg, the exact same. It just doesnt make any sense. Very illogical.

    • @AverageJak
      @AverageJak 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      studying ahirloss for 15 year eh? and that related to a TRT protocol how? the whole point is if you take 100mg that gets converted and you create a spoke in DHT. the body cant do too much with that.. smaller spikes mean better ability to process the DHT. for the record the more frequent injections are actually used with the same logic to prevent EStrgoen spikes.. and that is proven.. so just shows your are completely clueless.
