👀As the saying goes, “The Winter Solstice is even more important than the New Year”.
And Voilà! We are now standing on the threshold of a new year.
When the north wind begins to blow, it’s the best time of a year to air-dry bacon and sausages！
Fei and my sister gave me a big thumb up and said it tasted like childhood (the highest compliment in our book).
🥩We dried them in the sun for 3 days and hung them for another 5 days to dry out.
🎄Then it’s Christmas Day~
We spent a fortune on a 2.4 meter tall Christmas tree,
and a wayward strawberry tree🍓🎄, plus some mulled wine🍷.
We end the last month in 2021
close to perfection.

My parents immigrated to Canada 45 years ago. They are from Taishan. My dad still like make the dry pork meat during winter time. I guess it reminds him his village. My French Canadian husband hate the taste 😛. But I’m sure he will change his mind when we will be able to bring some meat in our next camping trip!
@yushi911: Parents or people who move to different countries like to do it themselves because they can't buy it, it will never taste the same. AND you know exactly what it in it, these days there are added preservatives and inputs that can contribute to causing cancer in most processed food.
