  • HOW TO PLANT CORN AT HOME| how to plant corn at home
    Plant seeds 1.5 to 2 inches deep and 4 to 6 inches apart. Soil should be well-draining, but must be able to hold some moisture. Corn tends to use a lot of water.
    For sufficient pollination, plan your plot right. Instead of planting two long rows of corn, plant “blocks” of corn at least four rows deep. This ensures that the corn-which is pollinated by wind-has a greater chance of producing viable ears.
    PLANTING TIME : SPRING AND SUMMER ARE THE BEST SEASON FOR PLANTING IN MOST AREAS. YOU CAN PLANT ALL YEAR ROUND IN TROPICAL AREAS.

    I have just germinated corn from popcorn kernels as an experiment, and I have been researching how to grow corn. After watching a tonne of videos, this is the most useful. Im growing in an urban setting, and Im clueless at gardening. You told me so much useful information that other videos miss out. I didnt even know that corn is technically a grass, and requires nitrogen fertiliser.
    I also realise why so many people shoot at monkeys (not promoting it .. just saying). Thank you for the video

    • @WormholeGarden
      @WormholeGarden 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Popcorn is great for growing baby corn, for a stir fry. I pick the ears as soon as I see any silk emerge.
      Plant beans with your corn (along with a bean inoculant) to naturally increase your nitrogen levels: the beans will grow up the corn, like they're bean poles, while injecting nitrogen into the soil for the corn to grow better.
      Good luck!

      How do you keep the squirrels away? I have so many in my yard I can’t count them. We have several rabbits too. I want them to go away. I been living in my new house for 2 years and haven’t planted a garden since I been there because of the animals and bugs. It’s woods/forest behind my house and everything lives there, I’m actually afraid of my yard. Harvest spiders are also a major issue. But with the pandemic going on I definitely want to plant this year.
