- I walked out of the VIP business class lounge shocked in TENERIFE. The food at Tenerife VIP lounge is a complete joke. I did not purchase VIP business class to have drinks and sandwiches. Not a good day flying from Tenerife to London Gatwick. #iwalkedout #viplounge #tenerife

Respect to you Darren, you always show your vulnerable side. That’s why I love your channel - good and bad, it’s the reality of life. It’s a crushing disappointment to get to the end of a holiday, and the lounge / food stuff made it worst. But you’re authentic - it’s refreshing to see. Darren, I think you were feeling down because you were leaving Tenerife you love so much and nothing seemed to be go right. Every time I left Thailand I had the same feeling, a country I just adore.

I saw on the table, Sandwiches, mixed deli meats, cheeses and panini’s. Not just fruit and booze.

Sadly, many of the Biz lounges outside of the major hubs are like it these days. Air France at Geneva, BA at Düsseldorf, the list goes on. But I think that this particular lounge is the worst I‘ve seen…..safe onward travels always, DJ, and thanks for sharing.
Get as many drinks as you can drink. You can also only smoke in the lounge and the seating is comfier etc. In advance it’s only £26 so I don’t see the big deal

That food looked ridiculous, especially if very expensive.
I have used Montana Rojo lounge a couple of times and found they had two hot meals and several cold salads. It was Ok for me
Completely agree mate, I was there in January, the lounge at Tenerife is a disgrace, filthy, hot, open food, uncleared plates, it was like a soup kitchen, v poor 😳
I agree the lounge offering in Tenerife South is poor and the last time I was in there, it was packed! Would have been very disappointed if I had paid for it. The food is normally quite good in CE, well on LHR routes anyway.
Moral of the story, save some money, travel economy, no lounge, eat and drink what you fancy. Leg room pretty much the same on a baby bus....
True. I would never fly anything but economy on short haul roots. Also you are not going to get the same quality VIP lounge outside of major hubs.
What was the price not that we would use it just curious. When we get to Tenerife departure we’ve got a bit of a tradition always get there in plenty of time go through as soon as we can then get a Burger King and be a couple of NERDS and sit and just stare at the planes coming and going and by the way love your channel
They’re taking the utter P - hope get half your money back! Not a snob but like a canteen. Best bit was music - being a great singer, good ear for music! Safe travels 😀

As I have said before I would never pay cash for a Business Class/Club Europe trip from London to Tenerife. AVIOS is the way to go. The lounges probably offer £50-£70 of added value in London for the food/drinks/snacks/alcohol and comfort you get for flying Club Europe. The Tenerife Lounge isn't a BA lounge, and that's where the problems start, BA isn't responsible for the standards they just offer it as an option for passengers travelling Business back to the UK. Generally, the lounges in major European Cities are much better than holiday destinations. You were unlucky with the onboard food, that rarely happens but I would put in a complaint to BA about this.
What's the problem with the Tenerife ViP lounge. How many times have you visited there?

If you did you would have seen that DJ said there wasn't any hot food offering, and if you are flying business class anywhere in Europe part of working out how good value for money a business class ticket is checking out the offering in a lounge. You don't have to visit it, just do the research on the internet. We live in an era of online information right?
@@northbankgooner6126 I have been to that Lounge over 10 times in the last 2 years and they have had hot food everytime I have been there. The last time was in Feb and I am going to be using it next week.
Darren I have tried a few different lounges and never really been impressed only thing that was good was some quiet areas
That BA Club Europe is a bit of a con really...Having said that, the lounges at Heathrow and Gatwick are great. I stick to only using it when I have Avios to use up.

DJ, sorry to hear about your experience with BA, i think they are a shower of ... we have no direct flights to London from Zimbabwe so have use Emirates, Ethiopian or Kenya airways. My choice is Emirates, their business lounge in Dubai and London are something else, amazing selection of food. We can fly to Johannesburg then on to London with BA, wouldn't touch them.
Sorry daz but this was ridiculous, turning your nose up at the food you payed for only to go and buy the same thing from another place, ridiculous!

Sorry mate, but i have been to.this lounge over 10 times and they have always had hot food there. Tbe lounge by far better than most lounges in Uk apart from the BA lounge.
We were there in december and had no hot food, they were doing alterations there so
Some of it was boarded off, we had the same options as Darren had and there were flies flying all over the food, didnt eat any of it, we have been before and it was great that time with paella etc but the last visit was not good

Point is that Tenerife is (pity) almost an English enclave. You can not turn your back or there are English people. Many businesses with English owners etc. so no English breakfast at the airport. At least a place where Spanish influence is still going on. Fruit, alcohol, biscuits etc. for breakfast.
wow, the lounge looked like a half ar5ed attempt. Got a nerve to label it VIP
The Virgin Clubhouse lounge Heathrow used to have complimentary massages, that got knocked on the head along with the Jumbo's being retired early due to the pandemic. International travel has lost its sparkle. A think DJ could use some Emirates business class, no corners cut there
It's Tenerife, you can't expect the same as a major international airport like Heathrow.
So you didn’t want ham or cheese sandwiches but bought a rock hard baguette with ham on 🤔

Best airport VIP lounge is the BA lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5. They’ve cooked food, curry, couscous, salads all sorts, huge choice of drinks and magazines and news papers.
What do you expect it is Tenegrief not Geneva, Frankfurt or London ...... I cant even believe they offer business class flights :-)

How disappointing. There is no point in eating something you don’t want, at least you got a lemon Fanta I suppose. That baguette looked good. Cannot believe there was no choice other than the salad when the Chicken Tikka ran out, very poor service. Hope you finally managed to eat in the end somewhere. The views from the plane were stunning.
So Darren. I booked BA club Europe for my honeymoon. I was in row 6. Someone behind me got moved after take off to an empty row 1 and ordered the same as I did. He got served his and when it got to me they had run out so kicked up a bit of a stink and I got offered a crew meal. It was a chicken tikka masala. Such a shame for you wasn’t a great experience.

Don't worry DJ, we've all had that feeling once or twice. Paying for something, believing it to be better than it is, turning up, eating it etc, then feeling ripped due to the let down and initial cost. And that's why you still got a sandwich ;)

The Tenerife lounge hasn’t changed much. Food is rubbish and looks much the same now. I flew club Europe with BA and was in row 1!!! They started on the row one opposite me and by the time they asked me what I wanted the beef casserole was finished 🤷♀️ I ate rotten pasta instead and my husband a salad, something not right with their food options. On a a plus note the hotel you were in is beautiful. We always stay towards la caleta, really another world over that side……😍😎

DAZZLER...you seem to have put yourself in an awkward spot. Is it food or is it travel 🤔 never the less, how many tickles have you had from food establishments whilst filming content? The reason I say this is because they can please some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time .swings and roundabouts pal. But please be aware that you can open your trap to let them know what their doing wrong that way they know and maybe fix the issue for future customers.....please please please don't become the idiot on another channel who does nothing else but coat people off. Oh Darren, i've been lucky enough to have had Silver Membership with BA since 2021 and each time i flew to Tenerife, which in fairness is 14 times up until this January 2024 i've used this lounge.(Even though 12 times i flew
Economy) it has been refurbished since i last used it , and they had hot food too, albeit not what i would be used to at Gatwick/Heathrow but i would prefer to sit in this lounge and chill before my flight anytime
over the terminal..
It's like Business Class mate, Gatwick to Tenerife you get a leather seat and F&B, and priority Boarding, But Business Class to Miami is a whole
different ball game.. 1st world

We use the lounge at Dublin airport before flying & the buffet changes depending on time of day Not a big variety but quality in most of their food there
The plane footage was excellent & enjoyable though again unfortunate with the food availability which is why we prebook our seats when flying as limited supply especially on return flights xx👍👍

Wow... yeah that lounge was not ideal at all especially when you pay a premium to get in. I would have done the same thing and gone somwhere else. Must say loved the footage from the plane paired beautifully with the music. Shame they ran out of the food option you wanted on the plane. Thats so annoying when that happens. Overall though looks like you had another amazing trip to Tenerife. 🏝💙

@kerriwightman3141 no its shocking news darren hired a motor car he did little mileage then on last day before he took it back he filled the tank up with petrol ⛽️ it cost him the massive sum of 11 euros.ill take that.

What a poor offering.Tenerife VIP lounge needs to seriously up their game. It's like they don't care.
